Listen to the passage and answer these question below:
Q1. Which aspect of rural life does the writer dislike particularly?
Q2. What are the things the writer mentions in Part B might best be described as?
I have to admit that all is not perfect in the countryside. Being a farmer, or a farm labourer, working the most unsocialable working hours in any profession, must be a dubious previlege. of all the sights and sounds in the country, the dawn chorus is one I could personally do without: birds all singing at 4 o'clock in the morning is so fun! From time to time too there is the unfriendly but not unbearable, smell of dirty farmyards and crop fields recently sprayed with pesticides and other things. For young people there are few jobs opportunities and very little to do. But while the city lights glinting over the horizon might be attractive for a while, the attraction doesn't last long.
Ultimately, of course, the advantages far outweigh such drawbacks.
