Prohibit Smoking or Not?
Long ago, the ancient people discovered the tobacco, and the tobacco became cigarette after process. This traditional has been handed down by the descendants. Now, smoking problems had sparked controversy for a very long time. Some people think smoking has a good side; it can reinvigorate you from the tiredness. And they also have the rights to smoke. But some people disagree, they say smoking can make you suffer from lung cancer, and is also bad for heart. In my point of view, I disagree with smoking, not only for the reason of the harm ness to the body, but also for the reason that cigarette smokers build their happiness on others' pain.

We all know that smoking is bad for health, but it do have some good points: It can makes you calm. In addition, many scientists believe that smoking relieves brain diseases such as Parkinson syndrome. But in a word, smoking has as much bad points as much as the good points. It contains carbon monoxide -- which can bring you severe lung diseases, nicotine -- which is used as pesticide, tar -- which precipitates in your lung, and obstructs the smokers' breathe, and so on. There are about 4000 chemical elements inside one cigarette. If a pregnant lady smokes, she loses her babies -- 10% of new birth babies die in a sudden because of second hand cigarettes. Cigarette also causes many cancers and diseases, like lung cancer, coronary heart disease, etc..

Furthermore, smoking in public is also bad for the air. Second hand cigarette releases carbon dioxide and pollutes the air after it is burned. A research shows that some people smoke for social communicate, they might think that smoking would make their appearance more attractive, whereas it makes others feeling a deep antipathy to their behavior. But they find it hard to quit smoking, because the cigarettes are addictive. Or, in another point of view, they couldn't seem to judge the good things and bad things about smoking as smoking had already declined their intelligence quotation.

In other countries' perspective, China had become the super-smoking country -- there are about 13 billion smokers in the world. In China there are 3.5 billion, about 1/3 of the world's smokers. Around the world, about 5 million people die because of cigarette smoking in everyday life. And in China, there are 1 million. And that's a quite scary number.

Smoking can also bring you inconvenience in several places. In the recent years, many countries in Europe had enact ban on smoking. Take Ireland for example, in 2004, the entirely ban on smoking begins. Now, the smoky bars, pubs, and restaurant become clean again. Notwithstanding some persistent smokers do have some complaints, but most of the Irish people felt pleased with the change. Based on a research report, 94% of smokers stick to the law voluntary.

China took action, too. Hong Kong had banned smoking in some public places since 2007, Jan. 1st. If smokers smoke in public places, for instance, schools, movie theatres, and airport, etc., would pay a 5000 Hong Kong Dollars fine.

Overall, Smoking has some good points, and bad points. But the bad points are in fact more obvious than the good points. In this way, I agree with the Prohibit on smoking. One day without cigarette, the world will be much better.
