getting depressed

These days, I feel depressed by some reason. I have thought about a lot of things such as the meaning of life and what can keep me moving on, etc.

And finally, I see a simple principle - "the meaning of life is to do something meaningful."

Is the prep. "by" proper? If I write this sentence, I will write"for" instead of BY.
ANYWAY, I also feel depressed...because I will have TEM4 this Sunday orz...
