I want to talk the distinction of the education system between western and eastern.

   In China, the emphasis of our teaching staff is focused on how we can achieve a high marks on our study, not on how we can improve our synthetical capacity, such as the auto-learning skills, the etiquette when we mix in with someone, the faculty of enduring setback and so on. I think the most important is to develop our independent personality by education. But what is the matter of the fact! Let us call back the memory of our studying from elementary school to high school and then to the university, what can we really find out about the improvement. Except the exam, it is still the exam. We never get rid of it. What we have learned all come from the texts, we only know the principle but we never use it in the real word. It is useless to us. Of course, I have to agree that we indeed make some progress, but the question arised in our mind is “is that worth that we take so long time to obtain such little achievement?” I guess most people will doubt this process of attaining knowledge. But we have no choice, it is in china where we are. Even we realize the abuse of education in china, and make up mind to change for a little by ourselves, but the wasted time can never come back.

   In western, we can find the sufficient space left to the students to let them improve themselves at the aspect they are interested in freely. Though, I haven’t known so much about the education style in western, I can feel the real rich research atmosphere from the world wide famous university in western countries, like Princeton, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge…… everyone there have an aspirant heart on learning study. The institution creates the best research condition for them and gives them supreme freedom to communicate academically, not as in china that we have it just to astrict our researcher.

   Though recently, our country have made great effort to amend the traditional education style, we still have a great way to improve. We should realize the big gap spanned between western and eastern in every aspect, then I think the most crucial task for us young people is to learn with a scientific spirit. So only we have enough knowledge to change our developing world, can we catch up with the western countries or even exceed them. It all depends on the education which should really enhance the whole technology level of our nation.
