A massive relief operation is underway in India to help two million victims of flooding. Thousands of people have been evacuated to higher ground, following floods that have devastated the northern state of Bihar.

Cuba is on high alert as hurricane Gustav heads towards the west of the country. Meanwhile, several states along the U.S Gulf Coast are preparing for a possible long slot by putting thousands of National Guard troops on standby.
