20070616 Stent Failure: How Much of the Problem Is Caused by Doctors?

Today we have the second half of a report about some concerns with the use of drag treated Courliary (coronary) stands (stents).

今天我们开始关于药物治疗冠状动脉后半部分的报道。

These are small medal tubes designed be placed inside artires (artiries) in hard (heart) patients.

这些是放置在心脏病人心室内的小金属管。

The stands (stents) is usually left in perminently(permanently) after doctors clean out a narrowed artiry(artery) with angile plastic (angioplasty) treatment.

支架通常在医生清理过狭隘的动脉之后可以永久地留在体内。

Doctors expand the stand (stent) to hold the passage open, so blood can flow normally to the heart.

医生张开支架来保证通道打开，所以血流可以正常流向心脏。

Medicine on the stand (stent) is released slowly overtime to stop the development of scar tissue.

支架中的药物可以随着时间逐渐释放，从而阻止疤痕组织形成。

Scar tissue can cause the artiry (artery) to become narrow again.

疤痕组织可能导致动脉再次变窄。

These devices have been approved in the US for the past four years for patients with simple plockgets (blockages) and no history of heart attack.

四年前，这些设备被批准用在轻微血栓而且没有心脏病史的病人身上。

But some doctors use drug aluting (eluting) stands (stents), as they are called, for patients with more serious heart problems, this is known as off label use and is permitted.

但是有些医生使用（他们称之为）药物 ( 洗脱 ) 支架在那些有严重心脏问题的病人身上，这是他们都知道的无标签使用。

But 2 recent studies question the safety of off label use of drug treated stands (stents).

但是最近 2 个报告置疑无标签使用药物支架的安全性。

Both found that some patients with more serious conditions were more likely to suffer a renarrowing of the artiry (artery).

2 个报告都发现有些病人会出现更严重的情况，使得他们要承受动脉重新变窄的痛苦。

This is called restinoses .(restenosis)
