ahu参加宝宝大赛以来，第一次坚持自学新概念这么久（整整20课啊55）。现在虽然宝宝爬行比赛结束了，但是宝宝不能一辈子都爬滴，宝宝的成长是不能忽视滴，所以21课以后的内容还是要继续滴。
暂定每周1、3、5新课文，2、4、6复习头天内容，周日回顾本周内容。作业大部分是翻译【因为当你跟老外打交道的时候他是不会出选择题或者填空题给你做的】，参考答案我会放在NCE3小组，请大家踊跃讨论【请大家不要勾选楼主可见，咱们做练习为的就是讨论复习，不是完成作业】。Ahu一直认为复习讨论比学习更加重要，欢迎大家踊跃提问，踊跃讨论！【有红包奖励的哦！】
Ahu的主持风格大概跟以前主持不一样，不过好歹也是原创。【大家慢慢适应，吐啊吐啊就习惯了^.^】课文中这种方括号大概会出现很多【没准哪天大家的名字也会出现其中】，主要是为了调节气氛活跃大脑加深印象，喜欢的筒子们举手欢迎下，不喜欢的就举脚唾弃下或者跳过。总之两个字：“无论什么方法，学习了消化了就是自己的了^.^”【众人的臭鸡蛋烂番茄＋板砖纷纷扔上台：这是两个字嘛？不会数数就下去！】
言归正传，lesson 22开始：

Some plays are so successful that they run for years on end. In many ways, this is unfortunate for the poor actors who are required to go on repeating the same lines night after night. One would expect them to know their parts by heart and never have cause to falter. Yet this is not always the case.
A famous actor in a highly successful play was once cast in the role of an aristocrat who had been imprisoned in the Bastille for twenty years. In the last act, a gaoler would always come on to the stage with a letter which he would hand to the prisoner. Even though the noble was expected to read the letter at each performance, he always insisted that it should be written out in full.
One night, the gaoler decided to play a joke on his colleague to find out if, after so many performances, he had managed to learn the contents of the letter by heart. The curtain went up on the final act of the play and revealed the aristocrat sitting alone behind bars in his dark cell. Just then, the gaoler appeared with the precious letter in his bands. He entered the cell and presented the letter to the aristocrat. But the copy he gave him had not been written out in full as usual. It was simply a blank sheet of paper. The gaoler looked on eagerly, anxious to see if his fellow actor had at last learnt his lines. The noble stared at the blank sheet of paper for a few seconds. Then, squinting his eyes, he said: “The light is dim. Read the letter to me”. And he promptly handed the sheet of paper to the gaoler. Finding that he could not remember a word of the letter either, the gaoler replied: “The light is indeed dim, sire, I must get my glasses.” With this, he hurried off the stage. Much to the aristocrat's amusement, the gaoler returned a few moments later with a pair of glasses and the usual copy of the letter which he proceeded to read to the prisoner.

Language points :

falter(vi.): become weak. 磕巴
He has practiced the poem several times, so he has no cause to falter. 他练习这首诗好几次了，没理由还磕磕巴巴。【不一定啊，he练滴那是情诗！】
She started to falter when she tried to explain.【惨了，she早就有男朋友了。。】

2、Some plays are so successful that they run for years on end.
for…on end: 持续地
He locked himself in his room for hours on end. 他把自己锁在房里好几个小时。【he绝望了。。。】

3、…who had been imprisoned in the Bastille …
imprison(v.): put sb in prison
He was imprisoned for 10 years. 【表冲动啊。。打人家男朋友一顿坐10年啊！】
短语：life imprisonment(无期徒刑)
He said: “My heart has been sentenced to life imprisonment.” 【太痴情了。。】
短语：in prison = behind bars
He is in prison now.= He is behind bars now. 【生命诚可贵，爱情价更高。。】

reveal(v.): show. 揭露，显露
The carpet was removed to reveal the original floor. 地毯挪开了，地板露出来了。
The cell’s secret was revealed. 单人牢房的秘密被揭露了。【地板下面有一个暗道！怪不得那家伙不怕坐牢！】

squint(v.): 眯眼

look on: 旁观
Only one man tried to help him; the rest just looked on in silence. 【废话，你要逃跑人家旁观没去报告就是好的！】

7、The light is dim. Read the letter to me.
dim(adj.): 昏暗的
The room is too dim to read the letter.

8、…which he proceeded to read to the prisoner.
proceed to(with/from): 停顿之后继续进行
You must proceed to(with) your work. 你要继续你的工作啊！
They decided to proceed from lesson 21. 他们决定从21课开始继续。【例如宝宝比赛结束了，但是大家还是决定跟ahu一起从21课继续学习^^】

难句&美句： :

1、…who are required to go on repeating the same lines night after night.
go on doing, 持续不断地做。。
night after night，time after time。都表示重复的，一夜又一夜，一次又一次。

insist/suggest/order/demand/require这些“坚持、建议、希望、要求”后面跟的宾语从句必须用should+v的虚拟语气(should可以省略)。
