美国比以前更加依耐外贸。对懂外语的商人、银行家、外交官及士兵的需求正在增加。

学校里有些学生不能正确地读、写任何一门外语。与英国和荷兰等国家相比，美国外语教育的设施也很差。

The United States has become far more dependent than in the past on the foreign trade. There is an increasing need for merchants, bankers, diplomats and soldiers able to communicate in foreign tongues.
Yet this country has been remised in educating sufficient number of men and women with their representative linguistic skills, ** to demand for relevant, American schools, colleges and universities have long ignored language requirements.
