Love You Silly, Love You Blind
“We agreed not to mention the bitter past
And promised never to make the other worry
To be a happy self, to take a good care of ourselves
Even if one day either of us suffers from melancholy”
When trees are green again, the flowers are in full bloom once more, and a sunlit May has arrived with beautiful life’s expectation as well as the sentimental reflection, do you still remember your/our promise this time that year?
That was when I was on my journey while you were in the wind, but the promise was repeated in the air, confirmed in the heart, witnessed by the season with us smiling to think of and describe a scene of a little boy and a little girl hooking their little fingers as a promise-making ceremony.
“We agreed to stop the quarrel once it starts
And vowed to hide no secrets with transparency
Minding nothing of being fair or unfair
I’d love you blindly, love you silly”
Love is blind to be true, love is silly to be lovely.
When you are blind, love stays; when you are sober, love flees;
When you are silly, love accompanies you; when you are smart, love escapes you.
Love is, after all, like a game of “Hide and Seek”---no winner, no loser, both are pleasure-seekers with silly one tactfully hiding and blind another tactlessly seeking to re-experience a naïve childhood game by an innocent heart.
