The first snow in the winter of 2005
When I looked out of the window in the early morning, I found the long-expected snow covering the roofs of the buildings and the ground and the street outside yesterday. Joy filled my heart at once just as a little boy received a gift in the last minute. Yes, it came on the last day of the 2005, late enough, yet, pleasing enough as well.
With snow, the winter is like the winter; with snow, the new year is like the new year.
What if there is no snow at all in the winter and the new year? People must feel that there is something missing, missing in an unacceptable way. Because the winter is a season closely associated with snow, and only with snow, may the winter keep its original charm; the new year is a time usually related to something new and fresh, and only with snow, may the new year maintain its festival’s atmosphere.
The sun shines brightly now, and a fog makes the first day of the year a bit mysterious. If the fog is a white veil, and the new year is a bride, then you have to wait for some time to see clearly the bride’s face.
I am longing for a beautiful bride, and for a good beginning of the 2006. Although I can’t see clearly the flowery face of the bride now, yet I appreciate the way the bride appears before me with her decoration---the fog that results from the first snow.
There is much expectation for the first show after the first snow.
