【观点】关于日本

中日关系隐患:
Mr Fukuda's hold on power is looking weak, and if he loses his job he could be replaced by a more hawkish prime minister. Meanwhile, underlying Chinese animosity towards Japan may be less visible at the moment only because nationalistic sentiment is preoccupied with France and other Western countries that have been critical of the situation in Tibet. But by allowing Chinese nationalism to flourish, partly to boost its own popular legitimacy, the Chinese Communist Party has also created the conditions for anti-Japanese sentiment to flare up again in the future at the slightest provocation. A warm spring may have arrived for now, but then weather forecasts aren't always reliable.

日本人对中国的态度:
I do not represent japanese people, but there is no sense of discrimination to the chinese people in japan, while there is still a strong sense of discrimination toward koreans, unfortunately though especially with older generations, japan and china can become much more friendly.
japan is trying to attract many more chinese tourists to japan as japanese population decreases, and more japanese are visiting china ever. if politics are not involved, two countires can live together already very well and i hope this will be the case in the future.
this is nevertheless not to neglect issues such as education of history, gas fields, etc.

篡改历史的理由:
One thing to note, is, Japan has lots of text books. The controversial ones are usually on the fringe, with less than 1% of take up by high schools.
But yes, the conservative gov tends to want to have a Japan proud.
Interestingly, the movement towards revising history is being done because many such right wingers are concerned the Japanese text books have been too apologetic. They worry Japanese kids won't feel proud to be Japanese, reading through such history.

中国人偏见过深:
online I recently came across a picture of a Japanese girl in Tokyo holding a Chinese flag. She was interviewed, she was basically just supporting the Beijing Olympics, however the majority of Chinese comments on the article were along the lines of: "So there is a good Japanese person!" Some comments were more along: "All countries have good people." but they were by no means in the majority.

I think the inherent suggestion that someone holding a Chinese flag is a good person is in and of itself an interesting comment on Chinese nationalism.

CCP对媒体的管制过严:
However, the key issue is whether Chinese people can be given full access to the whole picture about what Japan has done for/against China since 1937 till today (rather than till 1945) so that most Chinese can draw a fair and objective personal judgment on their sentiment toward Japan. I don't see the likelihood of the availability of such access under CCP's current ruling, given CCP's track record to conceal all historical records not in its favor.
