Nikki Webster, 澳大利亚人。曾受邀于2000年悉尼奥运会开幕式演唱《Under Southern Skies》（《在南方的天空下》），成为那届奥运会开幕式最为经典的时刻，时年13岁。14岁出版唱片《follow your heart》（《跟随你的心》），跃身欧美乐坛首张勇夺白金销售大碟，被称为“澳洲的小布兰妮”。

还记得悉尼奥运会开幕式，整个体育场是一片蓝色的海洋，有吊起来的各种各样的水底生物，有一个小女孩在其中遨游，也正是她唱了这首非常好听的《under southern skies》。

 就像画面上一样，南半球的星空下 ，蓝色的海洋，给人的感觉的清新，活力。

而她，Nikki Webster ，当时年仅13岁，却有着甜美令人感动的歌喉，看过介绍，说当时选了好多孩子，导演让把他们一一吊起来，在高空，看谁能在那么高的高度也能表演自如，能演唱完这首歌。最终，只有这个小女孩能完成任务，导演选择了她。果然，开幕式上，她的表演给全世界留下了美好的印象。澳大利亚，一个美丽的国家，她用歌声告诉全世界，奥林匹克的精神在南方的天空下是活力，是美好，是拼搏，是团结

悉尼奥运会开幕式点燃圣火的方式也是独具匠心。在水中点燃火盘，火盘慢慢上升，而火炬手站在火盘水帘下，高举奥运火炬，等待火盘升到最高点。虽然中间出现了小插曲，火盘因为电脑出鼓掌的原因，停在了半空一会，但这丝毫不影响人们对悉尼奥运会开幕式美好的印象。这特别的点火方式是很大的亮点。就像去年多哈亚运会上，卡塔尔的一个王子骑马冲下火炬台，中间2次差点马失前蹄，但就是这小插曲，更能让亚运会给人留下更深刻的印象。
