“我们的政府是人民的政府，我作为一个中国人，是人民的儿子。我们所取得的一切成绩都归功于人民。”“我最感动的是人民对政府的支持。这种支持来自鼓励，也来自批评，而且总是那么热情、一贯。”“我最觉得痛心的问题是在我这３年的工作中，还没能够把人民最关心的医疗、上学、住房、安全等各方面问题解决得更好。”
温总理在开场白中说：“我从群众的意见中感受了大家对政府的期待和鞭策，也看到了一种信心和力量。”“思所以危则安，思所以乱则治，思所以亡则存。”总理还引证《新唐书》里的名句为自己回应群众的意见和问题作注脚。

“我们的国家和民族正站在历史的新起点上，面对新的任务，需要更加清醒、更加坚定、更加努力。”总理的“三个更加”，掷地有声，振聋发聩。

TEHRAN, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Iran warned on Sunday that it will take retaliatory actions if it is slapped with sanctions over its disputed nuclear program, the official IRNA news agency reported.
"If they (Western countries) opt for economic sanctions, Iran will reciprocate with proportionate decisions," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini told a weekly press briefing.
He warned that any economic sanctions on Iran will have repercussions both at bilateral, regional and international scales, according to the IRNA report.
The spokesman said that there are two directions in the current standoff over Iran's nuclear issue -- one is passing a resolution in the UN Security Council, and the other is entering into negotiations to reach an understanding.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran advocates the second direction and has emphasized the need for negotiations so far," Hosseini said.
Any Security Council resolution on Iran would speed up the current negotiations between Iran and the world powers to a stalemate, he added.
The UN Security Council adopted a resolution in late July, urging Tehran to suspend by Aug. 31 all enrichment-related and reprocessing activities, including research and development, or face prospect of sanctions.
Iran's top officials have reiterated many times that Iran would not step back on its legal nuclear rights, warning the West not to imagine that the country would suspend uranium enrichment.
EU foreign ministers issued a statement on Oct. 17, saying that if Iran does not comply with UN Security Council's requirements, the EU would "work for the adoption of measures under Article 41 of the UN Charter," which stipulates economic and diplomatic sanctions.

昨天听一个北京HG大学的教师说，他们学校刚刚召开了紧急会议，会议的内容大概是说在学校的体检中，发现了7名（或是9名）研究生患上癌症，而这些人是在同一个实验楼的同一层，都是作有机化学实验的！校方没有通知学生本人，而且不许教师外传——很典型的处理方式：“捂着”！
听了以后很是震惊，以前倒是经常听说大学里搞有机的老师不能生育，还有生畸形的，但这么严重的还是头一次，想来也是迟早的事。实验室普遍存在严重的安全隐患，完全没有有效的防护措施以及安全教育，加上频繁接触有毒品，人本身的安全意识也钝化了。另外，国内学术界普遍的急功近利气氛，只要求快出成果，忽视了最重要的安全问题。对于那些还蒙在鼓里的学生和他们的家人，我想这种打击无疑是致命的，为了一纸文凭，真的值得吗？Out of school, out of job.倒是小事，但是Out of school, out of life就太不划算了。

看到蛋黄派上写着“custard ”n.奶油蛋羹, 奶油冻，（从定义上看更像是蛋塔，难道“塔”是“tard”的音译么？这样的话倒是很好记住了）
custard-pie 刚一看到“pie”还以为也是蛋黄派，结果是“吵吵闹闹”的意思，后来才想到pie n.“有喜鹊, 爱说话的人”之意，又想到magpie，一个老外曾说magpie可以指女人，看来女人话多是universal的

试着加了几个链接，好麻烦，先加到这里。一直没有加博客链接，因为不会加，还因为懒，当然，还有最重要的原因就是加了链接就有一份责任去踩，一个连自己的博客都杂草丛生的人哪有精力去浇别人的园子呐？责任是我一直所逃避的，与其说是逃避责任，可能不如说是怕负不起责任......

The warning from the Chinese authorities is a stark one. Nearly half of the country's chemical plants are a danger to the environment, many are near cities or on rivers or lakes. The government says that China risks a rising number of environmental disasters if effective measures aren't taken quickly. In the rush for economic development, China has often overlooked environmental protection, but now it's paying the price for that negligence.

But the South Korea Defence Ministry turned down the North’s offer saying the timing was not appropriate. A chief American negotiator on North Korea Christopher Hill is in China to discuss the crisis over the North Korean tests. Daniel Griffiths reports from Beijing. Christopher Hill is bringing a clear message to Beijing: the US wants China to use its influence in Pyongyang to help resolve the crisis on the Korean peninsular. China is one of the North Korea’s few remaining supporters and a major aid donor to the impoverished regime. So Beijing doesn’t want to put too much pressure on its old ally and it is opposed to tough action like international sanctions. It says dialogue is the only way to resolve the situation and it has called on the US to negotiate directly with North Korea.

All are expected to appear in court in the city later on Thursday. Gitta Harry reports. According to prosecutors in Atlanta, an executive assistant called Joya Williams rifled through corporate files and stuffed important documents into her personal bag. She is charged along with two others of unlawfully stealing and selling Coke trade secrets. It follows a tip-off from Pepsi Cola, who’ve offered “detailed and confidential information” about their rival. The FBI were called in and an agent acting undercover took up the offer. The three suspects were arrested on the day that a $1.5 million deal for 14 pages of documents was meant to be concluded.
