Since I do not foresee that atomic energy is to be a great boon for a long time,I have to say that for the present it is a menace.Perhaps it is well that it should be. It may intimidate the human race to ring order into its international affairs, which, without the pressure of fear, it undoubtedly would not do.
因为我无法预见原子能在长期来说会有正面的效用，我必须说，目前而言它是一个威胁。或许这样也好，人类会因为害怕而建立国际秩序；或没有恐惧的压力，国际秩序无疑是难以建立的。
It is difficult even to attach a precise meaning to the term"scientific truth". "Religious truth" conveys nothing clear to me at all.
