Love and Marriage
David:So please tell me what you think about love and marriage in China?
David:Yeah, in the United States, the concept of love and marriage has adopted modern ideas. I think in traditional China people don’t have a choice of who they would marry sometimes.
David:Very difficult to know each other? Why?
David:Arranged marriages?
You:是的。Yeah.
David:But now people have more choice in who they get married to.
Yeah, but I have a feeling that it’s really hard to find a good spouse.

I think love and marriage is in a very traditional custom in China. And of course people will lead true marriage after they met each other for some time. But in other countries, they thought they don’t marry. They just feel interesting and they enjoy their love together.
love and marriage is in a very traditional custom:这个短语中的介词in不应当有。如: It is a very traditional custom to wear red at weddings.
they thought:“they thought they don’t marry”意思不明确,听者很难理解说话者想要表达的意思。 因此应改为“they think it is not necessary to get married.”
They just feel interesting:这是一个典型的中式英语。 They feel much interested in writing after the lecture given by the professor.
I think love and marriage is very traditional in China. People who have known each other some time, get married, whereas in other countries, they can live together without marrying.

Because there are some rules, for example, boys and girls couldn’t enter the same group at the same time. And the girls should always stay at home and learn how to be a good wife and then her father will arrange her husband.
girls couldn’t enter:这个短语的意思是“女孩免进”(“girls can’t enter”)或“不允许女孩进入”(“girls are not allowed to enter.”)。 Girls can’t enter the boy’s dorm after 9 pm.
In india, it is common to have an arranged marriage.
Because there were some rules, for example, boys and girls couldn’t be alone in the same place and they needed chaperons if they went out on a date. Girls had to stay at home and learn how to be good wives, while their parents arranged their marriages.
