与老外交流
You：现在对我们来说，见到外国人并且和他们交流已经不是什么新鲜事儿了。
David：Exchange? 怎么交流呢？
You：我们能从外国人那里学到许多新的技术，而且他们的社会文化习惯以及对事物的看法都和我们不同。
David： ，I have traveled in the United States, Europe, and South America, and generally speaking Chinese people are relatively friendlier to foreigners. 我觉得中国人很有礼貌，也很和气。我去过美国，欧洲，南美等地。总的来说，中国人对外国人更加友善一些。
You：是呀，当中国人和外国人还不是很熟悉时，第一次见面是表现得比较客气；而当他们很熟之后，人们常会表现得更为热情。礼貌待人是中华民族的传统美德。
David：I also think politeness is a virtue, but generally speaking Americans are not as polite as Chinese are to foreigners. People from the U.S. could learn from the Chinese people’s example. 我一直认为礼貌待人应当是一种美德。但一般来讲，美国人对待外国人就没有中国人对待外国人那么热情了。美国人应当向中国人民学习。

I think it is：中国学生总爱滥用“I think”结构，而不直接表述自己的看法。实际上，“I think”会弱化你所说内容的可信度，尤其在书面英语中。不用“I think”听起来更加有力，自信。例如，“I think I will go see Mary now”就不如“I’m going to see Mary now”肯定。要养成在日常用语中不用“I think”的好习惯。
We：“we”的误用，通常此时说话人想表达的是他/她想做的事和别人也有关。受汉语语言习惯的影响比较严重，而英语里不这样表达。例如：“I enjoy meeting new people because we like to get to know about each other’s countries.”就是错的，应该是“I enjoy meeting new people because I like to get to know more about other countries.”。
参考答案：It’s very common nowadays to see foreigners and have a chance to exchange ideas with them.

Also learn a lot of new things：不要频繁使用things，这表现出你词汇量的贫乏，而且太过含糊，表意不清。直接说出things是什么会好一些，例如：We learn a lot of new things about language, the customs, the people themselves。我们学到了很多新东西，像语言、风俗习惯以及关于那里的人的一些情况。“things”这个词在此处毫无用处，不用反而使句子更地道，应为：We learn lots about the language, customs, the people themselves.
参考答案：We can learn lots from foreigners because they know a lot about the latest technologies and because they have different social and cultural customs and attitudes.

常见错误及点评（点击查看）常见错误：At first, Chinese people and foreigners are not very well know each other, and maybe the first time they appearance polite. When they know each other well, Chinese people will become more welcome to others. Exactly, politeness is the virtue of Chinese.
At first：错用了at first这个短语。“at first”意思是“起初”，而这里要表达的是“第一次”的意思，应改为“for the first time”。
Chinese people and foreigners are not very well know each other：“not very well know each other”不对，应在“each other”前加to。例如： The child was not well known to the postman but he knew where she lived.邮递员不太认得这个孩子，但他却知道她住哪儿。
they appearance polite：单词形式误用，在句子“hey appearance very polite”中，appearance是名词，不能做谓语，应用其动词形式appear改为：“they appear polite”，例如： You appear to like that young lady very much.你看起来很喜欢那个女孩儿。
参考答案：Chinese people and foreigners may not understand each other very well when they meet for the first time, so naturally Chinese people give the appearance of being polite. After they get to know each other, Chinese people will be even more welcoming. In fact, politeness is a virtue in China.
