A Pragmatic Analysis of Euphemism in Doctor-Patient Communication

Significance of the Research: By stating out the pragmatic functions of euphemism in doctor-patient communication empirical value, it arousing both the doctors and patients to applied euphemism to their dialogues and to pay more attention to their relationship. What’s more, it can help both the doctors and patients to improve their communication skills by citing the main principles of application of euphemism in doctor-patient communication.
Feasibility of the Research: Firstly, all the resource will be gathered from the Internet (CNKI, Google, 中国国家图书馆), library and so on, which are all available on our campus; Secondly, There are already many researches on pragmatic analysis of euphemism, but Euphemism in Doctor-Patient Communication
Methods:
What methods will be used: Dialogue-Analyzing Method; theories of Functional Linguistics;
What materials will be used: materials of real doctor-patient dialogues; data gathered via empirical studies;
How data will be collected and analyzed: Questionnaire; Observation; Journals; TV Programs; Movies; Novels; Longitudinal vs. Latitudinal studies;
