This is AP News Minute.
I. The sheriff in Cedar Rapids Iowa says the town is kind of at God's mercy right now. So far, nearly four thousand homes have been evacuated as more than a hundred blocks of downtown Cedar Rapids have flooded. Iowa's governor has declared 55 of the state's 99 counties disaster areas.
II. About a hundred people showed up at a vigil Thursday night to remember the four boy scouts killed in the tornado on Wednesday. The twister ripped through camp grounds in Little Sioux Iowa, destroying everything in its path. Several dozen other scouts were injured in the storm.
III. President Bush has met with Pope Benedict at the Vatican. Benedict treated the president to a rare stroll through the Vatican Gardens, a spot where popes pray and only special guests are allowed. The next stop for the president's farewell tour of Europe, France.
IV. Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has finally dropped out of the race. However, Paul says his campaign has five million dollars left in the bank, so he will work to get libertarian-leaning Republican candidates elected.
