What do you think of Bill Gates? Do you think that college education is very important for your future career? Why?
"Bill Gates once attended Harvard University and began studying pre law. He wasn't sure about which career he wanted to study, but he would spend most of his time using the computers. Later on, he eventually dropped out and began a software company called Microsoft. Microsoft has made Bill Gates the richest man in the world with an estimated fortune of $58 billion dollars, which continues to grow each second of every day." (Bill Gates. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Gates>). My opinion on Bill Gates is that he is a hard working intelligent man. He created a software program that is used on almost each computer today. Bill Gates is a man who took something that he loved and was able to transform it into a successful career, which is not what many people today get to do. Sometimes people fail or give up on their dreams because they wouldn't make a lot of money doing it. You may see Hollywood stars who dropped out of college or didn't even make it there, follow their dreams and make millions of dollars doing what they love. It's not all about the glamour and wealth; it takes hard work and dedication. The entertainment industry in America is very harsh and cruel and can lead people to give up on their dreams. Unfortunately, with each famous person out there, hundreds of those pursuing their dreams weren't as lucky.
There is a possibility that you can make it "big" by not getting an education in America, but there is a slim chance. I think it is very important for people's careers to get a college education. There is a high competition rate in New York for jobs. Bosses would pick the person who is better and higher qualified. Soon I believe it will get difficult to get a job without a master's degree as well. If you don't go to college, people don't take you as seriously and mature; as if you had a troubled past. There is no high rank job that you can start out with, only working in a restaurant, super market and all those kinds of low waged jobs. The salary won't be as high as a college education, and it would be difficult to provide a good standard life for yourself and family. Since living in New York is expensive enough with a college education, it would make it twice as hard to earn a decent living. Personally, I would like to go to the medical field, and there isn't any way that I can get a job as a physician's assistant or doctor without a certified degree which requires college education and even more schooling after that. No patient wants a doctor without a medical degree and proper training treating them, because there can be serious repercussions.
