    如果我在南京路上顺便问一位路人:"你会写汉字吗?"结果你我都能想像得出，我肯定会招来白眼外加一句"神经病!" 但且慢骂人，听我讲讲其中来由。
    上个世纪九十年代初，电脑还不太普及。我就尝试直接在电脑上做笔译，我不会五笔输入法，只会拼音，多年下来，汉语拼音水平提高了不少。
    这几天又在忙翻译。为了集中注意力，加快速度，我决定先将文章译成手写稿后再输入电脑，结果发现好多汉字自己不会写了，还有许多错别字。如果我直接在电脑上输入译文，根本不会出现类似的情况，因为电脑屏幕上会自动跳出汉字供我选择。
    我感到困惑，我不断问自己，再过若干年我还会写汉字吗？有人建议我学五笔输入法，但很难掌握。不知还有没有易学又不会让脑子变傻的输入法。

这件事使我更加清楚表音文字和表意文字的差别，也明白了我上学的孩子作文错别字屡教不改的原因。有人也许会说："Like father, like son."

吕布Vs 山涛；

    上次老师出的对联的确不好对，但这种文字游戏对搞搞脑子还是蛮有好处的。上联里吕布品酒，“吕”字有两个口字，“品”字有三个口字，所以说“前两口，后三口”；上联里吕布是历史人物，所以下联也要对历史人物。
    老师后来提供了参考对联为：山涛出关，前一山，后二山，山山雄壮。山涛是西晋“竹林七贤”之一，晋初，任吏部尚书，也是历史人物。楼主觉得老师的对联很好，“山”字有一个山，“出”字有两个山字，“壮”字和上联的“香”字押韵，对仗工整。但楼主仍要斗胆改两个字，一是将“出关”改为“出游”，二是将“二山”改成“两山”，理由是“游”和上联的“酒”押韵，将“二”字改成“两”字感觉读起来更顺口些。有人也有不同的观点，认为“山涛出关”比“山涛出游”有气势，虽没有押上韵。真可谓仁者见仁，智者见智。
    对对联这种文字游戏当今已经不再盛行，一般人也没有接受过这方面的训练，对起来自然困难不少。“斗鸡山上山鸡斗，”也不太好对，因为这个上联从左往右读以及从右往左读都是一样的，跟英语广告语"Impossible is nothing"不一样。楼主想了一个下联，希望能够抛砖引玉。即：斗鸡山上山鸡斗，藏妖洞里洞妖藏。

这几天在复旦大学参加语言学暑期班，老师布置了一道对对联的作业。上联是：吕布品酒，前两口，后三口，口口醇香，特向各位高人征下联。
我又想起了两、三年前在桂林旅游的时候，导游以桂林一风景区的名称出了一上联：斗鸡山上山鸡斗。不知那位能提供下联。

生活需要什么?

有人跟我讲了这样一件事。

有一天下午，孩子放学回家后，放下书包就在自己的房间里开始做作业。老师那天布置了一篇作文，题目是：生活需要什么？
孩子经过构思后就开始下笔写了，写得很认真，半个多小时后文章就写好了。我对孩子写作业的速度感到惊讶，担心他敷衍了事，就拿过作文来看。文章的主要内容我已记得不太清楚，但他的大意是说，生活需要什么？生活需要钱。有了钱，可以过上好日子；有了钱，可以给边远地区的孩子盖希望小学，让他们有书读；有了钱，可以让地震灾区的人民重建美好家园......
读完后，我觉得虽然孩子文笔稚嫩，也不够全面，但写得还算可以，也就鼓励了两句，事情就过去了。
几天后，我偶尔问起孩子上次作文怎么样。孩子的回答大大出乎我所料，老师让他重写作文。我问为什么？他说老师讲的生活需要钱不对，生活需要爱！下课休息时有同学讥笑他，说他掉到钱眼里（可能是学了成人的话）。
听了孩子的话，我恍然大悟。原来这才是教育者所期望的标准答案！

这件事虽已过去很长时间，但一直萦绕在我心头。如果问各位，生活究竟需要什么？我想大家不会千篇一律回答说生活需要爱吧。

What is WTC site like today?(世贸中心现在是什么样?)

The twin towers of the World Trade Center (WTC) New York collapsed following the 9.11 terrorist attacks in 2001. Some 2,800 people perished, including mor than 350 fire and emergency responders. The WTC site has another name Ground Zero. Since the 9.11, things have changed a lot in the United States. One thing is that they have stricter security check in some important public places. As a visiting scholar, I had experienced this myself when I was in New York last year. I had to go through strict security checks when I visited the Statue of Liberty, the Jewish Heritage Museum in New York and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. For those who visit New York, WTC is a must they will see. Most of them are curious about what the WTC is like now. I visited Ground Zero several times and each time I saw many people of different races tried to tear wider the hole in the fence and look into the WTC site. But there is nothing special going on there, it is only a large construction site, new skyscrapers are being built on the WTC site. Here are two of the pictures I took, I’d like to share my experience with my readers.

We had a good rest today so that we might be energetic for tomorrow’s trip to Thouand Island and Niagara Falls.

In the morning right after breakfast we went to the Queens College to check the mails. There are some computers at the lobby of kiely Hall. It is convenient for the students and the teachers to check their emails.

First I made a phone call to my family. To be frank, I am homesick though I have been only a few days away from my home. Ater the call I sent some emails to my friends.

We prepared dinner by ourselves and went to bed earlier than usual as we have to get up very early tomorrow for the trip we have been longing for.

My 3rd Day in New York

The 3^rd Day

It is Wednesday today. The QueensCollege is closed for 3 days since it is Jewish New Year. We can have a 3-day holiday, with the weekend we will have a 5-day vocation.

We went to Flushing after breakfast. It took only 15 minutes for us to get to the downtown center by bus Q25. We went to a Chinese travel agency to get some information about a trip to Niagara Falls. We had planned to go there on Friday, but they had no vacant seats, so we had to wait until Saturday. Schnell booked a flight ticket to Beijing, for he is to fly there for the National Day. We compared the prices of two travel agencies, and found that there was much difference so we chose LL Travel Agency and paid $130 and everything was ok.

On our way to our studio, we did some shopping for the coming weekend, especially for the travel on the weekend. We had a good rest for the next day we would visit Manhattan. That is my 3^rd day in New York.

上个世纪80年代末90年代初，我和一个老同事加老乡同在上海求学。14年前他去了美国，在普林斯顿大学拿了博士学位，后来定居美国。从此，天各一方，由于工作的原因，彼此也就失去联系。
这次有机会去美国，于是赶紧找以前的同事熟人打探消息，几经周折才弄到他的电话，打来打去，没联系上。在准备放弃之前，我决定试最后一次，工夫不负有心人，电话居然打通了，电话那边传来了熟悉的声音，一点也没有变。一阵激动，一番寒喧，一番感叹，这个世界真小，友人再远，也联系得上，关键看你想不想！

土菜馆 Vs Locavore

        经常出差的人肯定会发现这样一个现象，就是这几年来中国各地的城市里出现了许多叫土菜馆的饭馆。饭馆里有所谓的土鸡（尽管价格不菲），当地的河鱼及本地产的牛羊肉，还有新鲜的蔬菜。有些菜的烹饪方法确实土得很，比如说，湖南有的土菜馆有一道菜叫辣椒泥，是用新鲜的嫩青椒做的。将新鲜的青辣椒蒸熟，放在陶钵里，用木锤捣烂，放好盐就好了。菜里不放调味料，但口味还不错，是很好的下饭菜。
      众所周知，自从改革开放以来，机械化养鸡场、养猪场和现代化蔬菜基地给人们提供了大量的肉类和蔬菜。商品流通渠道畅通，人们能吃到全国各地乃至世界其他国家生产的农产品。随着人们生活水平和要求的不断提高，人们对高科技生产出来的农产品开始有了厌倦感，而对农家小菜开始感兴趣，蔬菜要吃当地产的蔬菜，最好是从地里现摘的；鸡要吃本地的土鸡，最好是放养的；鱼要吃河里的鱼，最好的是现捞的；放养的牛羊肉最受人欢迎。但是，城里的人又特别忙，没时间到乡下吃土菜，所以精明的餐饮老板就在城里开起了土菜馆，尽管端上顾客餐桌上的不都是土菜，但到土菜就餐却风行一时。
       无独有偶，国外也流行土食主义，如果要造一个新词来表示的话，应该叫locavorism,由英语单词locavore派生而来。locavore 本身也是一个生造词，是由local加vore合成的，local 是“当地的”意思，vore在英语中表示“食”，locavore的意思是“土食者”，是指那些热衷于食用本地出产的食物的人。据说，美国加利福尼亚州的一些土食者，只吃他们居住地方圆160公里出产的食物。土食者还办有自己的网站，真可谓是现代的土食者。
       这一现象引起人们的思考。现在这个变幻无常的社会，真叫人琢磨不定，一方面有人以能吃到世界各地出产的土特产为荣，另一方面有些人却只吃当地出产的食物。此一时，彼一时，三十年河东，三十年河西。谁也说不清今后几年又会流行吃什么！

伤心，中国足球!

        前几天许多中国球迷还满怀希望，希望中国足球队在这次亚洲杯上能有所作为。首场比赛中国队5比1大胜马来西亚队，第二场比赛又2比2战平了伊朗队，最后一场小组赛只要打平就出线，形势一片大好。然而乌兹别克斯坦队的三粒进球将许多中国球迷的心踢得粉碎，中国队又一次灰溜溜的结束了本次亚洲杯之旅。
       小的失误犯了再犯都要付出代价，大的失误一次就足以毁掉宏伟基业。为何中国队一次又一次地犯大错，一次又一次地重蹈历史的覆辙？为什么中国队老是恨铁不成钢，关键时刻老是不争气？广大球迷那脆弱的中国心一次又一次被踢得粉碎！再这样被伤心折磨下去，球迷的心快磨练成铁石心了。
        网络报纸和其他媒体指责主教练朱广沪的文章长篇累牍，诚然，作为主教练他不能推卸他的责任。但是许多忠实的球迷认为中国足协这么些年来碌碌无为，主要领导难辞其咎，上海某晚报上有人撰文提出谢掌门，你该谢幕了！

1+1=2？

         今天想谈谈一直憋在心里的一个话题，就是1+1究竟等于几。如果你说1+1=0或1+1<2，只要不在小学数学课堂上，没有人会说你是白痴低能，人们往往会把你看成哲学家，因为生活中这样的例子比比皆是。
       今年年初，上海足坛原申花队和原联城队突然间合并组成了新的申花队，两支中超球队变成了一支球队，球员众多，人才济济，据说最主要的还是资金丰厚，因为有大款注入一大笔小资金。
       人们有足够的理由相信今年申花队应该非常强大，球员多得要下岗，钞票多多。因为有钱，有钱就好办事，money makes the mare go。虽不能说逮谁就灭谁，起码也能吓唬吓唬一些弱队。然而，事实并非如此。到目前为止，新的申花队丝毫没有表现出强大的迹象，申花不像申花，联城不像联城，申花花不开，联城城墙倒，亚冠联赛小组垫底，成绩实在糟糕。中超联赛竟然还屡屡被弱队蹂躏，上次要不是裁判帮忙，还不知会有多惨，让许多申花的粉丝伤透了心。这种结果恐怕出乎许多人的意料，尤其是出乎投资人的意料。
       现实生活中有许多事并不像算式1+1=2， 1+1有多种可能的结果：有时侯1+1=0；有时侯1+1<1；1+1>2的情况往往只是有些人的白日梦而已。人们想知道申花目前究竟是怎么啦，答案只有一个：都是钱惹的祸！

Finally several medical stations were set up, which made up for a new medical system. Many people came to support the stations for aiding the war. After a long break of the war, the army renewed and then started the second war. This time the army of Tang Dynasty beaten the enemy, they made a great success.

The whole country celebrated for three days and nights, the emperor was so excited and proud that he was going to reward Samantha. “My kid, you’re the heroine of my country, you saved the country and my people. Now I will give anything you want,” Samantha stood in front of the emperor, then kneel down, with a respectful reply: “I appreciate your kindness, All I want now is back to my own home.” The emperor shook his head, with slight anger: “No! You are our war goddess. Our country needs you. Would you have the heart to turn your back on the people who are suffering in the war?” Samantha was in a dilemma. She thought for a while, and said: “I insist to go back to my own times, but I promise you I will be back, and bring you some of the 20^th century inventions, which would be more helpful to the soldiers. Please take a second consideration. ”

After the emperor discussed with the ministers, he agreed. For one condition, she must be accompanied with Li, the oldest prince of the country, in case that she would escape.
