时闻，日本国以最高外交国事礼遇接待我国国家主席胡锦涛，以此贴记之。

樱花，生于日本，今也多见于北美各地。日本早于其他亚洲国家进入国际社会，就促其超越了自然，作为日本国的象征之一，升华为一个文化符号。文学艺术中 盛行symbolism, 樱花的含苞欲放的粉红、盛情满开的彭芳、及纷纷洁白的悲落，自然地，无论是人生的体验，或作为哲理的回味，都愈来愈被人们喜爱了。

她学的日语，十分内向少字，而多日本友人，她的一篇中文随笔，写的是北美观樱的感受；被我悄悄英译了，发在国内四川英语网；为吾触网入博后单篇，颇为自喜，沾沾然。她常提起的 ‘生命之短，美丽稍瞬即逝’ 是否是这种文化影响呢，还是某种暗喻呢，我想这次观樱时将好好琢磨琢磨。

移来作引，与友分享：“在日本，樱花盛开的季节是在3月和4月之间，南方开的早，越往北方开的越迟。这里毕竟是加拿大，直到5月初才盛开。不过，不管在哪里，樱花从盛开到凋谢最多也就两个星期，所以令人感叹，犹如生命的短暂。” "It is in May, now in Canada; but 'Sa-Ku-Ra' known in Japan welcomes the spring much earlier in March or April, from southern areas first, it moves up north, whitening the land gradually to the north-end the latest. Yet, no matter where you re, you see them in full blossom only about 'a week' or two; short, as you may amazed; alike, as people used to describe the human life."
