[INT. (NEW YORK) ISAAC’S LOFT -- DAY]
(Isaac opens the paint can. He moves frantically. Using his hands, he scoops out black paint and rubs it over an existing painting.)
SIMONE: (o.s.) Hey.
(Isaac stops and looks up to see Simone walking into the room.)
SIMONE: Oh, God, what? The silent treatment?(She puts her case up on the counter as she heads toward Isaac.) Oh, boy.
(Impatient, Isaac grabs the entire paint can and pours it over the canvass. He smears the paint with his hands completely obliterating the painting underneath.)
SIMONE: Isaac ... what are you doing?
(Isaac puts the canvass aside and heads back to pick up another painting. This time, he picks up the painting of the eclipse.)
SIMONE:………… (1)……………. .Isaac!
(He puts the painting on the easel and picks up the open can of paint.)
SIMONE: Okay, stop. What are you, crazy?
ISAAC: Clearly.
(points to the paintings) I don't even remember painting these. I was high, okay? I lied to you.
(Simone looks through the sketches on the table.)
SIMONE: Damn it.
ISAAC: I've been chasing for a month.
SIMONE:…………(2)…………………

ISAAC: No, they're evil.
SIMONE: What are you talking about?
ISAAC: What am I talking about? Want to know what I'm talking about?
(Isaac rushes across the room and picks up a painting. He clears the table with a sweep of his arm and puts the painting on it. It’s a painting of a burning bus and car.)
ISAAC: ………………..(3)…………………….
SIMONE: Yeah, so?
(He picks up the newspaper and shows her the photo on the front page.)
ISAAC: So ... that's this morning's paper. Look at the number on the bus.
(They match: 009.)
ISAAC: This happened yesterday.
(He chuckles with scared disbelief.)
ISAAC: Yesterday. Something's wrong with me.
SIMONE: We'll get you help, Isaac.
ISAAC: I've tried that twice. There's only one way left, and you know it.
SIMONE: You can't go cold turkey. Not alone. I mean, let me help you, please.
ISAAC: No!
SIMONE: I love you.
ISAAC:………………..(4)………………
(He sits down on the steps.) Just leave me alone.
(Simone kneels in front of him. She reaches out to touch him and he jerks away from her.)
ISAAC: (shouts) Get out of here!
(Simone raises her hands and stands up.)

The two remaining candidates for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination,  --senator Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton have both warned of a pending recession and have laid the blame squarely on the Bush's administration. At a recent campaign debated in Texas, Obama spoke at length about the country's economic woes. "We You don't need the economist or the Federal Reserve to tell the American people that the economy is in trouble, because they have being been experienced it for years now." Clinton followed up with a list of specific economic trouble spots that must be addressed. Starting with cooperate tax regulations. "We are going to rid the tax code of this loopholes and giveaways, we are going to stop giving a penny of your money to anybody who ships a job about  out of Texas or Ohio or anyway else to another country." New economic data shows that the U.S. economy barely grow in the last quarter of 2007, some economists say that is another sign that the nation is moving toward a recession. At a White House news conference, the president said robust action has been taken to prevent recession. A reference to the economic stimulus package recent passed by the congress, that would will put rebate checks in the hands of many tax payers, and provide businesses with investment incentives. "Consumerism is a significant part of our GDP growth, and we wanna sustain. Tthe American consumer, encourage the American consumer, and at the same time we want to encourage investment.” Mr. Bush is was asked of if growing public unease about the economy might hurt his Republican Party in this year's presidential election. Vice chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Leslie Silverman said the goal of her agency was to eliminate discrimination in the work place. She said the U.S. had made substantial progress over the years. "At the years, see, EEOC, we do believe that the racial discrimination still occurs far too often in the employment context, and we also believe that stereotypes and unconscious bias contribute to this problem. That's why this past year we decided to take a new approach to combating race discrimination, which we call Erase ERACE and it stands for eradicating racism, colorism from employment.” Advocacy Director of the American Civil Liberty’s Union John Mil Duckwile Jamil Dakwar, was not impressed. He said the delegation presented existing laws, Supreme Court cases and other policies to justify their actions, but did not really address the questions and concerns of the committee. A coalition of 250 U.S.-based human rights organizations accused the United State of persistent and systematic racial discrimination. The committee based many of its questions on the 600-page report the coalition presented to it. The committee will present its final observations and conclusion in two weeks.
