Book Report
The story goes like this: In a poor family, a girl used a roll of golden wrapping paper to decorate a present box on Christmas. His father blamed her for wasting unnecessary spending of the wrapping paper. The next day, his father was surprised to know that the present was for him. But before any reaction, the father was shocked once more that nothing was in the box. The little girl explained that she blew kisses into the box. The father was very touched at the moment. But shortly after that, the little girl died in an accident. But the box with the little girl’s love stays with the father life long.
The box with kisses
This simple-designed story line, however, is far beyond its plain facade. In our real life, everybody is given such a box filled with love from our family, friends, fellow workers, which most of us have ignored. There’s an old saying “you’ll never realize the value off your possession until you lose it.
There are too many people complaining that God bestowed nothing on them while fact is not really so. God sheds light on everybody. Some feel the warmth and treasures the brightness, some, however, sees nothing concrete and believes there’s nothing. We should see the point here is not to count how much you are given but value the possession that you own.
The wrapping paper
There are occasions in our life that we want to be “nicer” to people but finally the costs is considered undesirable by the receiver. For the receiver, we should be convinced that the first thing to do is not evaluate the costs but appreciate the kind initial and show your gratitude to the person who gives you the present.
Wrapping paper conveys nothing more than people’s love and wishes for you. Love and wishes should not be wrongly justified under any condition.
So next time when you see your present wrapped beautifully by another person, remember to tell him that you like it and you treasure his initial.
The box stayed life long
We have to admit that spiritual gifts always outlive material ones. Though the little girl died, her love for her father stays with him for the rest of his life. I deeply believe that the present is always providing magic power to support the father when he’s confronted with the difficulties on his way forward.
