Comments on Braveheart

It’s a real historic event; it’s a fate-turning point; it’s a lachrymatory love story; it’s a people’s cry of heart for freedom. Happiness, sadness, courage, love, passion, all those weaved a great man’s great soul at times of chaos.

During the period of war, lives are challenged as well as humanity. Live a slave to devil, or die a hero for your own country? In the movie “braveheart’ Williams Wallace demonstrated a great spirit calling for freedom for his people. Anyone who saw the movie would never escape his last cry for his country,  “free dom”. Yes, it’s a simple word everyone can say easily. Though The echoes of the great voice has died away with our hero, the image of the soul he demonstrated with his life will never fade away, it’ll stay as long as human history can reach.

Love is always one of human’s eternal themes. It takes great difficulty for one to be convinced that a war is started by an ordinary folk’s death, yet we have to believe it because we believe the magic power of love, which gives Wallace hatred as well as courage to fight for his will. Love makes Wallace a happy man to us, so the loss of love pressed our compassion for Wallace.

Wallace is no more than an ordinary person among us, what makes him a hero is not the person himself but the courage and the spirits of freedom he carries with him inside. Still his love for his dead wife adds to his panache, which makes him closer to us in our mind.

A lot more can be taken from this movie for the status quo. Power politics and hegemony still exist, there are people at the corner of this world never had peace, never enjoyed the warmth of sunshine or care from a family. Compared with them, we should appreciate our blessed life and show gratitude to everything, everybody.

War and peace never ends with each other, thank God may us live in peace.
