The last century has witnessed human’s great power to change the world. The appliance of electricity freed people from the darkness of night, the invention of TV showed the world the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, the invention of computer and Internet makes the world smaller for everybody, including us.

But, except all these glorious moments, what, else?

Yes, we proved ourselves undefeatable every time we successfully change the real world into a better place for us. We successfully defeated the darkness of night, we made it possible to travel around the world within 2 days, and we managed it to communicate face-to-face between 2 friends on different sides of this earth. Yes, we are great, we have to admit it. But, at same time besides all those positive changes, what, did we get? Nuclear weapon with mass destruction, car accident which kills 3 people around the world in every second, 911 attack which directly killed more than 3000 people, terrorists who are more willing to take others’ life with their own. The world seems to have an invisible trend to go in the other direction than we intended it to. There’s something wrong with our dear world.

One of my teachers always tells us “identifying the problem is 50% in solving the problem”. We always take it for granted that we are greater than in the previous age. We have to agree that our knowledge far surpasses the past, but what about spiritual enrichment? There has been no correlative increase. We don’t remember how it feels to enjoy a cup of tea and chat with our family about interesting things happened during the day, we don’ t remember how sweet our family’s big smile is when  we share the little moments together, we don’t remember how it feels to hang out with friends all night having fun along the streets; instead, all we could remember is every second we sit in front of a computer during work, after work, after dinner and during dinner.

In the capitalized society, we are just too proud of our industrialization.

Last, I want to say, dear friends,  it’s not too late confess to the fact that we have been stepping backward in the enrichment of human spirits, and you know what? We can fix it!
