Shengda College is a private college located just outside of Zhengzhou, Henan, China. The current campus is also called "Shengda Economics Trade and Management College of Zhengzhou University", and is intended to be a part of an eventual Shengda University. The College was founded in June, 1994, through a partnership between the Taibei Guangxing Culture and Education Fund (with Mr. Wang Guangya as the president) and Zhengzhou University. The college attaches great importance to foreign exchanges. It has established sister school relationship with Northwood University and Buena Vista in U.S.A and Kingxi University in South Korea and has regular educational and cultural exchanges with them.
Our college is a full-time institute of higher learning. Totally there are eight departments, which F.L.L.D, Accounting and Information Management Department are the three main departments of our college. Shengda College is located near the southern section of Zhong Shan Road in the developing area, Xinzheng, Zhengzhou city; 300meters to the east of the national expressway No.107.The College covers an area of over 730,000 sq. meters with a building area of more than 360,000 square meters. There are more than 40 impressive buildings with the artistic combination of oriental and western style. The campus is located in a clean and quiet environment. The beautiful Dragon Lake runs across the campus with the inverted reflections of the striking buildings in the water. Green trees can be found here and there. Backwards the campus, there is a small mountain with green trees and grass all over and around it. These all make her an ideal place for study and research.
The campus is composed of 5 areas: teaching area; administration area; sports area; living area; entertainment area.
1. Teaching area
It is at the northeastern corner and composed of 4 department teaching buildings and 2 complex buildings with 36 labs.
Here we must talk about our library--
The library's resources consist of more than 300,000 volumes of books in Chinese and foreign languages, nearly four hundred kinds of newspapers and magazines. The founder has invested 9,000 copies of different publications from Hong Kong, Taiwan and foreign countries. All Chinese and foreign books are subscribed from the provincial Xinhua Bookstore and Foreign Language Bookstore respectively. In compliance of the most up-to-date efficiency, all the subscription, compilation, and circulation procedures are completely computerized.
2. Administration area
It mainly refers to the administration building, consisting of President Office, Vice-president Office, Teaching Affairs Department, Students Affairs Department, General Affairs Department, Recruit and Placement Department, Secretary Office (including Foreign Affairs Office), Personnel Office and Accounting Office.
3. Living area
It includes residences for teaching staff, students’ dormitories, restaurants and canteens, a business street and health care center, etc.
Residential buildings for faculty members and a hotel for guest visitors are all completed with necessary amenities. There are now 26 students dormitory buildings including four buildings designated for instruction that can facilitate 10,000 students. The northern part of the living area is mainly new-styled and well-equipped dormitory buildings. The southern dormitory buildings for students are situated around the lake. Six students can occupy each individual dormitory. Each dormitory building has two activity rooms.
The in-campus clinic, a branch of Zhengzhou No. 6 Hospital, strictly follows the national health regulations for schools, and can treat common illnesses and care for any medical emergency. The center serves to improve school hygiene, food sanitation, and cooperate with relevant departments for the prevention of regional diseases. The center also offers health education, including psychological health in the form of lectures, broadcasts, and school journals. The center consists of consulting rooms, a pharmacy, an injection room and a recovery room. To ensure the health of the faculty, staff and students, the center is conveniently open 24 hours daily to serve everyone's needs.
Totally there are 9 restaurants and canteens including teachers’ canteen, Longhu canteen, North canteen, South canteen, Muslim canteen, a food street and the newly-built Shengda Clubhouse. Among them, Longhu canteen and South canteen are spacious enough to serve 3,000 people at a time. The business street has 4 supermarkets, a hairdresser’s, a dress shop, a photo shop, a glasses shop, a school bank (ICBC), a post office, a bookstore and a laundry. We also must mention the activity center under the Boys dormitory building. There is a cafe, a gym, a billiards hall and a large self study hall, which are quite popular among the guys.
4. Sports Area
The Campus sports facilities consist of 40 basketball fields, a tennis court, volleyball fields and a football fields, which is surrounded by a standard 400-meter circular track. Every year a large school spring sports meeting will be held in the stadium in April. Besides, table tennis facilities are scattered in dormitory building area.
A modern 4-storeyed gymnasium is capable of multiple functions. The gym is free for students at fixed time every day. The underground floor is a big hall for dancing and bodybuilding. On the first floor people can play badminton and table tennis. The second floor is a standard inside basketball field.
5. Entertainment area
The Siyuan Hall is for performances and movies at weekends. The amphitheater--Arts Square is multi-functional. It can function as an outside dancing hall; in winter it becomes a skating place and in other seasons it is a stage and theater. The underground of the gym is a big inside dancing hall.

2. Accounting Department has 4 majors:
Accounting; Financial Management and Audit; Accounting computerization; Foreign-related accountant
3. Enterprise Management Department has 3 majors:
Personal resource Management; Industrial and Commerce Management; Tourism Management; International Business
4. Marketing Department has 5 majors:
Electronic Business; Marketing designing; International Marketing; Logistics; Advertisement
5. Information Management Department has 3 majors:
Information Management and Information system; Computer science and technique; Computer Network
6. Foreign Language and Literature Department has 4 majors:
Science English; Japanese; Business English; English
7. Law Department has 5 majors:
Law; Modern Secretary and public relationship; Chinese literature; Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language
8. Art department has 4 majors:
Music Performance; Instrumental music; Vocal music; Model; Dancing
Also we have the correspondent junior college courses.
Our strong faculty consists of about 800 part-time and full-time teachers. 54% of the teachers have either associate professorship or professorship and they are fine and outstanding professors and scholars. Our college provides every opportunity for its faculty members to go abroad for further study and to pursue advanced education. Moreover, visiting overseas scholars have been recruited for teaching positions.
There are labs including Computer Classrooms, Audio-Visual Language Center, Multi-media Classroom, and International Trade Lab and so on. Furthermore, an Audio-Visual Language Center has been established for language learning. Facilities in the Center enable the faculty and students alike to succeed in their pursuit of foreign language instruction. The 30 language labs are equipped with Panasonic WE-7900 language lab facilities and another 10 language labs equipped with Sharp and Sony audio video facilities. The Center has also installed an FM broadcasting station for foreign language teaching, a close circuit TV room, a TV camera studio, a recording room, and a room for video and audio instruments. In addition Practice Hall, due to its well-equipped facilities has been specifically designated for the purpose of promoting students' business skills and operations.
In the morning, you could hear the sound of reading books and English everywhere on the campus. Around the Library, around the teach building and in the building, also around the play ground, everywhere is the beautiful sound. The campus radio station broadcasts three times a day, except weekends. From there, we can get the up to date news home and abroad. All the students are full of vigor and we just study and live on the campus in line with the exhortation “diligent and thrifty simple, relies on one's own effort to revive “to students .I am quite sure that your life here will give you a deep impression of your life span.
