I guess when we get to certain age, things like that become quite sentimental.  We had one last year back in Shanghai for the middle school.  It was very emotional, my wife and I really got lost on the flight back to CA.  Where are we and who are we?  But, looking at our beautiful daugher, we realized that life is a blessing and deserves appreciation.

Appreciate this Blog, I guess Lule has the courange to put out there while everyone else can shoot from DARK:):)

Appreciate it that you guys share with me the sentiments and emotions I went through.

Life has phases and every phase has its own beauty. Offsprings are certainly one thing that prove life worth living. (As I often thank my son for the happiness he brings to me) However, I do think the best time of life is middle age when we have the real capacity to understand and analyse, to endure and forgive, and to enjoy and appreciate.

“Lule has the courage to put out there while everyone else can shoot from DARK,” which is the fun part of this blog. :)

--- You paid attention to nothing except what you were learning even when you were in middle school. :)

I still remember the name of my 同桌 in my elementary school (顾X华) and her vivid appearance though I have never seen her again after graduation. :P

Francis' remarks make me think it is not fair that everyone elso shoots from DARK while I am the only one in the limelight. :) If I have courage, it is due to my students who encouraged me to do it.

One good thing of being close to your students is that it makes you younger, in both spirit and appearance.

You do look exceptionally charming. If you put more of your photos on your blog it will certainly raise the spirit of more people who visit this blog. :)

Well, really feel flattered. Hope I can say something nice in return. :)

Aha! You think that was flattering and wanted to flatter back? Almost all women like to be flattered, either explicitly or implicitly, but not men. Women usually like to hear good words about them regardless whether the words are true descriptions about them or not as long as those are good, sweet, and flattering words. In other words, most women like to be misled and like delusion of life. You seem to be insensitive to others’ flattering words and, instead, you are trying to encourage and flatter others. Maybe, because you study semantics you are probably one of very few women I have ever met who have a clear mind, like to hear the truth, and possess the ability to understand the subtle point of my writings. :) :)

It is wise for women to know the truth, not just to like to hear the truth. Men more than women like to hear good words about them, not their appearance of course, but their ability. Aren't there too many examples?

Are you sure that Men more than women like to hear good words about ourselves:)  Well, maybe true.  I think one needs enought confidence to handle the truth.  The question is how to build up such confidence.  1). through achievement, 2). from ignorance.

I like the expression "to handle the truth." It is one step further from to have the full awareness of the truth about oneself.

Confidence may derive from ignorance, however achievement does not necessarily lead to confidence.
