Her comments on America trying to look old and China trying to look young is interesting. An email letter from a former student, a pretty girl with distinct personality:
How are you?
My study went on well, so far so good. Besides study, I pick up singing again, not in chorus but a Kent's choir. It's pretty interesting experience. We will give performance in Feb, March and May, I am excited about it. It's been a long time. My last memory about singing on stage was 7 years ago. This semester, all the courses are relevant to how to teach in a multicultural classroom/society, how to manage conflicts....
I spent my winter break with D. We went to see a play called "Medea goes to Jail" last weekend at Statetheatre. I laughed from the beginning to the end. It was a good play, kinda preachy, but very funny as well as witty. The theatre looks like an antique, although America is a young country. America is a young country but tries hard to look old. China has a long history but intends to look young.
Well, people at Kent State are cool, I don't feel much racial tension, every one minds their own study. However, some American students are very ignorant and unbelieveably simple. I guess that's why we think Americans are a whole bunch of happy people. They don't know about outside world, thus they are carefree...I find it is amusing.
well, just something that I've been through. Big Hi to you!
