一位去年从上理毕业现在美国深造的学生和纽约人一起在纽约时代广场从2006年跨入2007年。他说这是一段unforgettable experience。我非常感谢他让我分享他的兴奋和激动。
Dear Professor Lu Le,
These days I'm travelling around New York City. I went to the Times Square to celebrate New Year's eve. This celebration event was sponsored by several companies like Chevron, Target, etc. Everyone there got a red hat and a funny scarf with the companies' names on them. Some famous celebrities gave performances such as Christina Augrurela. I stood there still for about 9 hours, surrounded by millions of people. The music was also crazy, all hard rock type. But right before the coming of 2007, a song called "Imagine" was broadcast. All the people on the Square were singing:"Imagine there is no war, imagine all the people living for today...maybe you'll say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one...please join us... and let the whole world be as one." Another song was broadcast named "New York, New York" which is a typical broadway song and which I have long liked. It was an unforgettable experience.
I also went to the Statue of Liberty, Metropolitan Museum of Art, etc. I waited in line for three hours just to be close enough to the Lady Liberty. I'll send you more pictures when the Internet works better.
Happy New Year,
Yours,
S K
