Some parts of the country had year-round programes(programs) in the 19th century, mostly for economic reasons. They felt it wasted money to use school buildings for only part of the year. Year-round programes (programs)can also reduce crowding in schools. In one version, students attend school for nine weeks and then have three weeks off.The students are in groups that are not all in school at the same time.Another year-round calendar has all students in school together for nine weeks and off for three. This is meant to provide the  continuious(continuous) learning that can be  lost over a long break. But year-round schooling has supposements(opponents). They say it can cause problems for families when they want to make summer plans. And they say it interferes  with activities outside school, including summer employment. Some experts say no really good studies have been done to measure the effect of school calendars on performance. But some educaters(educators) think year-round schooling especially helps students  from poor families that lack educational support at home.
注意以下拼写:
program
continuous
educator

Debating Year-Round Education (1/2) ( 本次听写约200词 )

Today we continue our discussion of school cellendas(calendars) as a new American school year begins. Some people say the troditional cellenda(traditional calendar) of 180 days no longer meets the needs of American society. They point out that students in  most other industral(industrial) countries are in school more hours a day and more days a year.Critists(Critics) also say a long summer vacation causes students to forget much of what they learned.Schools are under pressure to raise test scores. Some have changed their cellendas(calendars) to try to improve students'(student) performance. They have lenghened(lengthened) the school days or added days to the year or both. This can be costly if schools need air-conditioning on hot days and school employees need to be paid for the extract(extra) time.Local businesses may object to a longer school year because students are unable to work as long at summer jobs. Some schools have a year-round scheldure(sheldule). The school year is extended over twelf months.Instead of a long vacation there are many short ones. The national asociation(association) of year-round education says alomost five percent of public school students attend year-round schools. It says almost all of the states have some public schools that are open all year.

When Medicines Become a Risky Mix (2/2) ( 本次听写约158词 )

Harmful drug interactions are growing problem throughout the world. The increase is partly a result of patients being given more drugs and more combinations of drugs than ever before. For example, people infected with the AIDS virus often develop tooberkilosers(tuberculosis). These conditions should be treated together. In some countries, aging populations mean more sickness, which means more need for medicine.Experts say patients should talk with their doctors and farmersits(pharmacist). Before taking new medications, these include drugs that do not require a doctor's approval as well as urble (herbal)treatments.Even some foods can interact with medicines in ways that may be helpful or harmful. Alcohal(Alcohol) maybe unsafe with medicines including common painkillers, like a seedermanefen or ibeprofen. The combination can raise the risk of liver damage or stoma(stomach) bleeding. There are many resauces(resources) on the internet about drug interactions. However it is always a good idea to confirm health information from the internet with a medical profectional(professional).

When Medicines Become a Risky Mix (1/2) ( 本次听写约181词 )

Many people take severalmedcines (medicines)to treat different conditions at the same time. Each medcine(medicine) may be safe to use by itself. Yet, together there could be dangerous or even devilly(deadly) drug interactions. One example happened last year, reverman blue(rhythm-and-blues)singer , band's(and) song writer Jeral Liverd (Gerald Levert)died at his home in Ohial(Ohio). A medical examiner found that the death was accidental, caused by a mixture of medcines(medicines). He was 40 years old. The drugs in his blood included the pinkillers(painkillers), vigerden(viridin), perkerset (percocet)and diverset(darcocet), as well as the anxiety drug zandax(Xanax). These all acquire(require) a doctor's approvel(approval). Other medications (that)are sold without the need for a prescription from a doctor also were found in his blood. Earlier this year, there was a government report don't(on) drug interactions. Researchers said deaths from accidental drug conbination(combinations) in United State(States) increased almost 70%, that was between 1999 and 2004. In 2004, nearly 20 thousand people died from accidental drug poisonings. The problem is now the second most common cause of accidental death in the United State(States) after motol(motor) vehical(vehicle) accidents.

As a Chinese, we should have faith in products made in china. Some people say ill for Chinese goods just because the low price gives their national market a hit. However, this can’t be the reason for them to blame the quality. We should make it clear that the abundant cheap labor forces result in low price.

Not all the countries can assure the quality of their goods because one can’t be proficient in all areas. I can bet on the good quality in clothes and shoes made in China. However, I won’t buy a mobile and its accessories that made in China. Frankly speaking, manufacturers need to improve the quality in high class products.

The minute I saw this topic, I was sure that I wouldn’t pawn anything. However, I went on reading and found wh1030’s little game. I had a try and the result is eyes. That reminds me the strong woman Helen, who wrote the classical work if I was given three days of light. Without eyes, she still led a wonderful life though a bit difficult.

So in order to exchange the health of my family and friends, I am willing to sacrifice my eyes. What’s more, as the saying goes, out of sight, out of mind, I don’t need to be annoyed by the ugly things happened in the society. I can create a peaceful surrounding in my mind. Maybe I will become a burden to them, but with the development of high technology, I can manage it myself.

To me, it seems to be a fair deal.
