UN Holds Food Crisis Talks in Switzerland (1/2)

U.N. Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon says the steeply rising price of food has developed into a global crisis. He says the U.N.-sponsored meeting in Burn Bern must find solutions to a problem that is increasing poverty, hunger and instability in the world.
联合国秘书长Ban Ki-moon表示，急剧飙升的粮食价格将已经引发全球危机。他说，此次联合国发起的伯尔尼会议必须找到解决世界贫困、饥饿和动荡不断增长问题的办法。
The United Nations estimates about 100 million of the world's poorest people cannot afford to buy food. Because of the spiraling costs, the World Food Program says its original budget for this year is not enough to feed all of the hungry. It is appealing for an additional 3 quarters of a billion dollars to meet the extra expanses expenses.
联合国预计，全世界约1亿最贫困的人无力购买粮食。世界粮食项目称，因急剧上升的粮食成本，今年原有的财政预算不足以解决所有的饥饿问题。它呼吁新增7.5亿美元以满足额外的开支。
The U.N. Refugee Agency says millions of refugees are and internally displaced people will be particularly hard hit by skyrocketing food prices. Spokesman, Raul Redman Ron Redmond, says most of these people are totally dependent on food donations from the international community.
联合国难民署称，数百万难民和国内流离失所的人最易遭受飞涨的粮价所带来的沉重打击。发言人Ron Redmond认为，这些人中大部分人完全依赖于来自国际社会的粮食援助。
"This kind of dramatic price increases can also trigger instability, particularly in poor countries and this is of great concern to unite ourselves all UNHCR as well, because we have are already seen seeing that is this happening in several countries. Of course, the possibility could be eventual increased displacement that should a it trigger for the further conflict deduce and instability in north those countries."
