Israel has now released five prisoners as part of an exchange deal with the Lebanese militant group, Hezbollah. The move came just hours after Hezbollah sent back to Israel that the remains of two Israeli soldiers seized in a cross-border raid in 2006 which triggered an Israeli invasion of Lebanon. The prisoner exchange has been is being celebrated in Lebanon. Crispin Thorold is in Beirut.
The lectures raptures welcomed the five Lebanese former detainees freed by Israel have crossed the border. A red carpet and marshal martial music welcomed the militants into Lebanon. In the coming hours, the men will be flown into flying to Beirut where they will be met by the Lebanese President, Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Parliament, the three most important figures in the country's government. Later a celebration will be held in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a stronghold of Hezbollah, where the movement's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, will make a speech.
