Internet bussiness man John Brain created Freerice.Since Oct,570 metric tons of rice have been donated,enough to feed about 150,000,000 for one day.The game is said to be especially popular with college students and young people who visit social networking sites.Jenffer Pamerlly is a world food progrem spokenwoman in Washington,she says cash donations help the agency to buy food locally and transported quickly to where it is needed.For example,with donations from the site,rice for aa apoual was recently bought in the area at half the world market's price.B,K and Uganda also have recevied food through Freerice.Over the last 9 month though,the cost for secure food aid has incresed 55%.Jenffer Pamerlly says this is the biggest crisis the world food programe has faced in its 45 year history.She says creative projects like FreeRice are badly needed right now.
