For High Definition TVs, Blue-ray Gets a Big (1/2)
competition always means waiting for people to make choice.that was the case with VCRs,video cassette records.during the 1980s,people have two choices.VHS and dataMax.the VHS format won the competition, dataMax dispeared from all but professional use.more recently, the VHS or vedio home system format has been dispearing as people choose DVD players.but now the two newest kinds of DVD players are in competition. blue-ray and HD-DVD are both design for use with high definite televsion.this produce bigger sharpper pictures.they work best when showing movices or TV programs made in true high definition.but Hi-def takes more memory.so a new kind of DVD digital vedio or versatile disk was needed.blue-ray and HD-DVD are similar in technology.both use a blue laser to read the information on the disk.but HD-DVDs cost less to produce.they are be made with existing equipment, while blue-ray DVDs can not.but a blue-ray disk holds more memory about 50 Gigabytes compare to 30 Gigabytes for a HD-DVD.
