英语中, 可以单单用一个副词来做肯定的回答.

记得, 有一次在英语角里, 听到一个ABC( American Born Chinese)回答我的提问时,没有用yes, 而是说exactly. 短短一个单词,激起我寻找类似表达法的兴趣.

下面是我找到的一些类似exactly, 可替代yes, 给对方以肯定答复的副词.

1) exactly: (used as a reply to something
that has been said) quite right; I agree!

"We need a drink!"
"Exactly! Let's have one."

相反的回答, 我们可以用not exactly
- (as a reply) That is not altogether true.

"So then you kissed her."
"Not exactly. She kissed me."

2) absolutely: infml Certainly

"Do you think so?"
"Absolutely!"

3) certainly: (as a *polite* or *strong* way
of answering a question) yes; of course

"Will you help me?"
"Certainly!"

Certianly not: (as a polite or strong way of
answering a question) no; of course not

"Will you lend me your comb?"
"Certainly not!"

4) sure: infml esp. AmE Certainly

"Are you all right?"
"Sure."

5) definitely: (in answer to a question) Yes,
indeed.

"Is he coming?"
"Definitely!"

6) precisely: yes, that is correct; you are right.

"So you think we ought to wait until autumn?"
"Precisely!"
