Will E-books replace traditional books?

3.       我的看法

There is no denying the fact that E-books are increasing in numbers and varieties with the development of information technology. Believe it or not, people of great majority are immersed in the sea of these virtual books. People’s attitudes towards its emergence and popularity vary from person to person.

Some argues that E-books will substitute the traditional ones in the following reasons. To begin with, E-book offers us much convenience not only because it saves us great space for storage but also for its easy access, in other words, we are exempted from the worries derived from the space needed for piles of books and the fatigue of moving heavy books. Moreover, E-books can be freely updated and circulated to cater for different people’s needs because the access to internet becomes easier. In addition to that, the production cost of the E-books is much less than those of conventional ones, which enables people to possess a great number of classics and popular fictions in their computers.

As far as I’m concerned, I’m in favor of the idea presented above. It is a tendency that E-book will occupy a great percentage of the markets available because of the advantages it brings. But it will not become the sole kind of book because the function of traditional ones such as familiarity and a fresh feeling will never fade.

College students are enjoying various kinds of recreational activities which involve the following ones: hanging out with friends in parties and clubs, watching films, etc. Those activities bring about benefits as well as disadvantages.

Participating in such leisure activities, on the one hand, provides them with great benefits. To begin with, it helps to enhance the communication between undergraduates who are often busy themselves in their homework and researches. It invigorates their off-class lives. Moreover, it will lesson their anxiety and pressure and give them fresh feeling, thus enabling them engage in their works by heart and soul . On the other hand, it does harm to them. Firstly, it distracts students from their studies. To some extent, they can’t find a good balance between the entertainment and study.

As a university student, I will spare no efforts to strike a balance between recreation and study. Only in this way can we develop ourselves in an all-around way.

The Olympics in my eyes

Beijing will host the 2008 Olympic game this summer. I’m very excited and proud about it. It’s a great sports event and I hope it will be hold successfully. As a college student, although I can’t go to Beijing to watch the game but I will stay around the TV. I will do my best to improve my English so as to communicate with foreigners and let them better understand china in the future.

Olympics have nothing to do with politics and I feel very angry that the pass of the torch was interrupted by the Zang Du people and also the unreal reports by the western media especially the CNN. Netizens has begun the loving china activities around our country. Everyone should not turn a blind eye and we should unite together to support this great sports festival---Olympic. 

Olympic is an international sports festival that unites people around the globe. As the 2008 Olympic is just around the corner, I believe it will be hold successfully. The event, in my opinion, brings numerous advantages.

To begin with, Olympic is bridge that unite the east and west together and also a window to display our culture and let foreigners better understand China. In addition to that, as a host, china will attract millions of foreigners and it will help the development of economy. Last but not least, as the spirit of Olympic is fair play, peace, it will promote the peace and friendship in the whole world.

From what has been discussed above, Olympic brings us great advantages. As a Chinese, I’ll contribute my best to support the Olympic.

Nowadays universities offer a wide selection of electives to students. The courses can offer a variety of skills and abundant knowledge apart from what they learn in the daily courses. There are many factors that may account for students’ selection.　

To start with, many students want to get another degree so that they can have more competitiveness when they seek for their career prospects and future development. Furthermore, some just want to obtain some necessary skills to make their college life worthwhile. Additionally, some students tend to take personal interest into consideration when they opt for an elective course. The science students, for example, want to know about Shakespeare while the art students want to tell how a vehicle works and how to deal with it when it breaks down.

On the whole, students’ selection of the courses is due to numerous reasons. I find it rewarding and interesting. As far as I am concerned, I am inclined to give priority to personal interest.
