It was a bit of showmanship,combined with an in*( inquisitive ) spirit that led to packed the briefing rooms during his tensure and some spirited of spurring(sparring) with reporters.

Tony Snow was treated for colon cancer a year before taking the job.Ten months into his tensure, the disease returned. He left for about 5 weeks from(of) treatment when he came back it was evident that the disease was taking his(its) top(toll).In Sep. of last year,he resigned and called his last briefing.
TS在接受这份工作前就已经接受了癌症的治疗，10个月之前，他的病又复发。他离开了5个星期再回来的时候就发现癌细胞已经占据了他的身体。在去年9月，他辞职。
