Rescue workers in Cameroon have been waiting until first night to resume the search for survivors of the Kenya airline crash, after wreckage was sighted late on Sunday. Contact with the Kenya Airways’ plane was lost soon after it took off from Douala Airport, bound for Nairobi on Saturday. From Nairobi, Adam Mynott reports.

“It appears that Flight KQ507 came down just a few minutes after it’d taken off from Douala on Friday night. Wreckage has been found in the mangrove swamp close to the town. The hunt for the plane took more than forty hours and was made more difficult by heavy rainfall and dense forest. It’s reported that some emergency services have reached the site of the crash but there is no indication yet that any of the 100 class passengers have survived.”
