A few days ago before the G8 Summit in Germany, NATO has criticized President Putin’s threat to point Russian missile’s at Europe if Washington builds a missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic. From Moscow, James Rogers reports.

“The possibility that Russia could turn its missiles towards targets in western Europe has worried Moscow’s former cold-war enemies. NATO has called President Putin’s words unhelpful and unwelcome. A spokesman for the British Prime Minister Tony Blair has warned that Russia now has decided whether or not it wanted a constructive relationship with the west. France has spoken of the need for in-depth discussions. This spells Russia’s concerns. Despite Washington’s assurances for the country many here in Moscow remained convinced that the proposed system represents a threat to Russia’s security.”
