More thane 60 people have been killed in a collision at dawn/ between 2 passenger trains in Eastern China. State medias say at least 400 passengers were injured, many of them seriously. Michael Bristol reports from Beijing. The trains collided in the early hours of the morning after a passenger train traveling from Beijing to the seaside city of Qingdao came off the wheelsrails. It’s reported to of have hit another train near the city of Zibo in ShandongProvince. 10 / carriages fell into a ditch following the crash. The emergency servicesis are at the site. And local government leadershas have also apparently / reached to the scene of the collision. Emergency measures to cope with rising food prices worldwide have beenare being discussed today at the a United Nations’ meeting at in the Swiss capital Bern. The UN Secretary General will be joined by the heads of more than 20 other UN agencies to draw up immediate plans. From Bern, Imogen Foulkes reports. B wants immediate and concerted action to resolve the global food crisis. The UN believes an extra 100 million of the world’s poorest people now need food aid because of rising prices. The World Food Program has made an emergency appeal for 755 million dollars. The soaring/ cost of food basics means that their its original budget for 2008 cannot possibly buy enough to feed the hungry.
