Reports from Afghanistan say at least 4 Afghan policemen and 5 civilians have been killed in an error air attack in the early hour of the morning during a clash with US-led coalition forces. The incident happened in the western province of Farah. In a separate incident in the eastern Paktika province on Saturday night, NATO officials said that their forces had killed 4 other civilians. There was darkness and much confusion when the fighting took place in the early hours of the morning. The police had opened fire and joinedon a joint convoy of Afghan national alarming army and foreign troops believing incorrectly that they were Taliban fighters. On hearing the gunfire, a number of locals have rushed to support the police. Foreign troops called an air strike during the clashes killing several policemen and civilians. In a separate incident NATO-led forces admitted killing at least 4 civilians in the east of the country on Saturday night, a military spokesman said that 2 martial shipsmortar shells had been landed nearly a kilometer from their intended target.
