This is AP News Minute.
Pope Benedict will land at Andrews Airforce Base this afternoon to begin his first visit to the U. S. as Pope. President Bush will be there to greet the Pontiff. During the trip, Benedict will say Mass in Washington, then travel to New York city.
Iraqi police says at least 6 people including 2 children were killed during a U. S. air strike in Bagdad. Another 27 people were injured in the bombing. So far, no comment from U. S. millitary officials.
Republican presidential candidate John McCain wants to ease the pain of the gas pump. During his speech today, it is expected that he'll propose a gas tax holiday this summer. Under his plan , a more than 18 cent per gallon federal gas tax will be lifted from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
And it's April 15th, which means it's tax day. The deadline of all year federal tax return is here. So if you can't meet it, the IRS recommends filing for a 6 months' extension.
