To Whom It(This) May Concern: Dear Peter

结束语Closing
Best,
Best regards,
Sincerely,
Sincerely yours,
Yours sincerely
Truly yours
Yours truly,
Respectfully yours,
Li Ming

1. I am writing this letter to express my heartfelt gratitude for…
2. I am writing to tell you how grateful I am for…
3. I would like to thank you most sincerely for…
1. Please accept my heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude, now and always and, if possible, I would like to be given an opportunity to repay your kindness.
2. I feel indebted to you and I really do not know how to thank you enough for your help.
开头:
1. I am writing to you because I am unable to …
2. I am terribly sorry that…
3. I would like to express my apologies for not being able to…
1. I am sorry that I cannot…, and firmly believe that you will understand.
2. Once again, let me apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused and, if possible, I wish I could be given an opportunity to make up for my fault.
开头:
1. I would like to inquire about some information about …
2. I am writing this letter to ask if you can do me a favor.
3. I would like some detailed information about…
主体:
1. I would be grateful if you would be so kind as to provide me with certain essential information regarding the following aspects.
1. I am looking forward to a favorable reply at your earliest convenience.
2. Your prompt and favorable attention to my inquiry would be highly appreciated.
3. I am already eagerly awaiting your reply to this letter.
开头:
1. I wish to make a complaint about…
2. I am writing this letter to draw your attention to…
3. I very much regret to inform you that…
主体:
1. I would like to draw your attention to something you have obviously failed to notice.
2. To solve the above problem, it is advisable for you to take the following measures:
3. I look to a day when we could really enjoy a more efficient service.
4. We trust that you will now consider this matter seriously and make an effort to prevent the recurrence of this kind.
5. If it is not properly settled, I would ask you to give my money back, or I would complain to the Consumer’s Association.
1. Please give this matter your immediate attention. I am looking forward to your prompt response.
2. I would very much appreciate it if … as soon as possible.
Directions:
You have just spent a weekend staying at the Seasons Hotel. When you get home you find that you have left a bag at the hotel.
Write the manager of the hotel and enquire whether the bad has been found. Give some relevant information about the bag and its contents. Ask the manager to contact you immediately if the bag is found and tell him/her how the bag can be sent to you

Dear Mr. Simpson,

I am writing this letter to inquire about a bag that might have been left at your hotel. I stayed in your hotel on the 23rd and the 24th of October, in Room 603. When I arrived home, I discovered that I had left one of my bags at the hotel. Could you please check your Lost and Found Department and see if my bag is there?

The bag is a small black leather, document case with a narrow strap. Inside the bag, you will find several business cards, a fountain pen, a small address book, three copies of a business proposal and a silver pocket calculator. These things are not very valuable in money terms, but they have a lot of personal value.

I would appreciate it if you could contact me as soon as possible, particularly since I need the proposals for a presentation this week. If you could send the bag to me by courier service, I would be most grateful. I have arranged to pay for the service.

Thank you for your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Li Ming
