空了十天没听,今天的任务一下从三分钟增到五分钟,感觉不少,挺累的!

1) Taliban militants in Afghanistan have released 8 of 19 South Korean hostages abducted 6 weeks ago. The Taliban freed 5 women and one man 8 hours after releasing 3 women. The hostages were handed over to tribal chiefs in southern Ghazni province. They were then placed to the care of Red Cross officials. The South Korean presidential spokesman says agreement was reached with the kidnappers after Seoul agreed to withdraw 200 of its troops from Afghanistan by year's end and suspend missionary work in the country. Taliban militants abducted 23 South Korean as they traveled by bus to southern Afghanistan as part of a Christian aide group. 
2) Iran has protested U.S military's detention in Iraq of 8 Iranians who the U.S military says were found with unauthorized weapons in their vehicles. Iran lodged the complaint (提出不满)with the Swiss embassy in Tehran which represents U.S interests. The U.S and Iran do not have diplomatic relations. The U.S military said the Iranians, including 2 with diplomatic passports, were briefly detained for questioning and handed over to Iraqi officials today.
3) Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki says order has been restored in the city of Karbala, where violence has killed 52 people and wounded more than 200 during a Shi'ite religious festival. Mr. Maliki who arrived in the city early today blamed what he called armed criminal gangs and remnants from former Saddam regime for the violence. Security officials in Karbala say the fighting Tuesday broke out when  gunmen loyal to radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr fired on guards around two major shrines which  were being protected by the armed wing of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council. The violence forced the authorities to impose an indefinite curfew in Karbala and order visitors to leave the city.
4) A senior Pakistani official says a power-sharing agreement between President Pervez Musharraf and exiled former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has almost been finalized.  Railways Ministers Sheikh Rashid Ahmed today said both sides have reached an agreement but provided no further details. Mr. Bhutto has demanded general Musharraf resign as army chief and become a civilian president as a condition for any agreement. In another report development. Pakistan Supreme Court has agree to hear a challenge to the legality of general Musharraf's dual role of president and army chief.
5) Indian authorities have imposed a curfew in northern city of Agra after one person was killed and several wounded in riots triggered by a road accident. Anjana Pasricha reports from New Delhi.
" The violence in Agra, home to the world famous Taj Mahal, erupted after 4 Muslims were hit by a truck and killed before dawn Wed. The victims were returning home from a religious festival in which Muslims visit graveyards and pray for the dead. The angry cult set fire to at least 20 trucks including the one involved in the road accident. Television footage showed smoke billowing  from the vehicles. Rampaging mobs also block the highway and throw stones at the police calling to quiet the violence. A shoe factory was set on fire, several policemen and fire fighters were among those injured in the violence. The rioting paralyzed the town for many hours, authority claimed curfew on several areas of the town and shut down colleges and schools as tensions intensified. They also closed down the city's most famous landmark the Taj Mahal and advised tourists not to leave their hotels. Anjana Pasricha for VOA news, New Delhi.
6) Tokyo is considering providing humanitarian aid to North Koreans affected by recent floods that killed hundreds of people and wiped out buildings and crops. Japan's Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura says officials are discussing whether the to North Korea despite the country's ideological differences.
7) China has sent a notice to the WHO defending its food safety standards.  The Health Ministry notice says almost all China's food export are safe and Beijing respects the importance of cooperating with other countries and institutions on food safety. The note calls on the WHO to provide support and to help China's food's safety network and report this work to other member states.

Taj Mahal  (Mausoleum)泰姬玛哈陵(Mausoleum)
习惯上简称为泰姬陵,位于阿格拉(Agra) 城郊的亚穆纳河(Yamuna)右岸,系莫卧儿帝国的沙杰汗/沙贾汗王爱妃泰姬玛哈的陵墓。高250英尺,占地约17万平方公尺,南北长580米,宽305米,有前庭、正门、蒙兀儿花园、陵墓主体、清真寺。建于公元1631年,动用2万人费时22年才建造完成。莫卧儿帝国也因如此庞大的开支(耗资4000多万卢比)而走向败亡之路。
据说在泰姬玛哈陵完成后,沙贾汗有意在亚穆纳河北岸用纯黑的大理石替自己建一座陵墓,中间以白色和黑色大理石桥连接,与泰姬陵遥遥相对,象征超凡脱俗的爱情。可惜1657年遭到其子的篡位,沙贾汗王被囚禁于阿格拉堡,此后8年,他每天透过小窗,凄然远眺河里浮动的泰姬陵倒影,思念着爱妻,最后死去,葬于陵内爱妻身旁。
