朋友QQ上发来消息，问我“公益演出”怎么翻译。
第一反应是“Charity performance”。
朋友质疑说：这不是“慈善义演”么？
想想也是，“公益演出”、“慈善义演”意思上的确有重合的地方，但毕竟还是不一样的吧。
于是继续查，Jukuu上找到一个结果：benefit performance。
不太确定，google之，发现是对的，wikipedia上有对应的词条。
看来：翻译时是不能想当然，不能有思维定势的，还是严谨一点比较好。
Benefit performance:
In a benefit performance the performers (and, likely, the crew, director, holder of copyright, etc.) usually do not earn any money.
Instead, the takings will go to raise money for (to "benefit") some mutually agreed upon cause: e.g. the Actors Benevolent Fund; a hospital; a foundation; or maybe to help the writer or a performer himself out of financial difficulties.

这里的“普座”可以翻译成Regular seats。
