Multi-cultural societies, which are mixed with different ethnic people, bring more benefits than drawbacks, to what extent do you agree or disagree?


Nowadays, with the development of globalization, multi-cultural societies is becoming a topic on which people have been divided. Actually, there is an opinion that a society which is consisted of people from different countries and ethnic can bring more benefits than harmfulness. From my personal part, I reach out both arms to enhance this point of view with these following reasons.

To begin with, in terms of economic, compared with an ordinary society, the one with varied culture has a larger consume. As we all know, every ethnic has its unique custom in eating, clothes, daily life. So the different consumption need infused into vitality for the economy and drive it to increase.

Further, the different customs and habits will change the living environment of the region and even make it change into a global village, which will also be able to make the local life interest and funny. As an old saying goes, “Be it ever so humble, there is no place like home.” A majority of people with different cultural background would like to live where like their hometowns, so there must be many buildings of various styles in a place, which offers a golden chance to local residents to travel the world in a day.

Last but not least, the fusion of different cultural language will not only produce a large number of new vocabularies, but also push society to develop. For an example, with the peaceful rising of China, Chinese is constantly influencing English, let it produce many Chinese type vocabularies, making English language more flexible than before.

All in all, I believe that the advantage brought by various cultural societies is not only reflected in the economy and language, but it also manifests itself in people’s daily life. Any one is willing to agree with the point that the benefits come from multi-culture societies overweight the problems they cause.

Some people think that schools should select their pupils according to their academic ability. Others believe that young people with different abilities should be educated together. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Just as a famous proverb once noted, nature passes nurture, which clearly indicates the enormous significance and tremendous influence education has on every one of us. However, the dispute about the aim of education has been long under fierce discussion and opinions vary. Pupils’ being ranked according to their academic levels is one of them, which, meanwhile, is just opposite to those holding the belief that mixing up different types of young people with different aptitudes at school would be much more helpful to serve the terminal goal of education.

Academic ability, evaluating the students’ level of mastership of the lessons, tends to focus on the aspect of knowledge students need to acquire in education. With a solid foundation of academic knowledge, one can keep up with the Joneses in the ever-changing society, being much more competitive, thus he or she would not be deprived of core competence and avoid being eliminated in the fierce competition. There’s no denying that the knowledge and qualifications one accumulated in his early age will be of gigantic conducive to the later career development.

On the other hand, the concept that educating young people with different aptitudes together tends to pay more attention to the experience students will obtain in different fields. With knowledge and skills and a great range of experience acquiring everyday, students can associate theory to practice and thus covert knowledge into experience, which can definitely activate the social value and utility of their academic learning. Theory without practice never makes perfect, hence, indeed, experience is the terminal of knowledge.

In my point of view, it is both crucial that students should obtain knowledge and acquire experience, hence I prefer a combination of these two opinions: we could establish a sound system to group students with similar ability of learning into a general category, such as Art Section or Science Section, so that we get a decent balance between these two contradictory ideas.

我以前也碰到过这样的情况，后来也因此设计出了能够保证字数在280字左右的具体结构，在我的作文课上《结构解密》这个单元就是讲这个内容的。
