As a scourge of the modern society, obesity has become the world’s biggest public-health issue today—the main cause of heart disease, which kills more people these days than AIDS, malaria, war. Since the World Health Organization labeled obesity an “epidemic “ in 2000, reports on its fearful consequences have come thick and fast.
Will public-health warnings, combined with media pressure, persuade people to get thinner, just as they finally put them off tobacco? Possibly. In the rich world, sales of healthier foods are booming and new figure suggest that over the past year Americans got very slightly thinner for the first time in recorded history. But even if Americans are losing a few ounces, it will be many years before the country solves the health problems caused by half a century’s dining to excess. And, everywhere else in the world, people are still piling on the pounds. That’s why there is now a consensus among doctors that governments should do something to stop them.

The popular view when discussing urban transportation in American cities today is to decry its sorry state. Newspapers and journals are filled with talk of an “urban transportation crisis”, of the “difficulties of getting from here to there”, and so on at great length. Matters are reported to be getting worse—and very quickly. Everyone has his own favorite traumatic experience to report： of the occasion when many of the switches froze on New York’s commuter railroads; of the sneak snowstorm in Boston that converted thirty-minute commuter trips into seven hour ordeals; of the extreme difficulties in Chicago and other Midwestern cities when some particularly heavy and successive snowstorms were endured.
One reason for the talk of an urban transportation crisis in the United States today perhaps lies in a failure to meet anticipations. Many commuters expected to reduce their commuting times as systems improved, but instead found themselves barely able to maintain the status quo in terms of time requirements. Another reason for talk of crisis, almost certainly, is that the rate of improvement in the performance of urban transportation systems during rush hours has been markedly inferior to that expected during off-peak hours. Specially, the ability to move quickly about American cities during non-rush hours has improved in a truly phenomenal fashion.

当前人们对美国城市的市区交通情况的普遍看法是糟糕透了。报刊杂志上充斥着诸如“市区交通危机”，“寸步难移的困境”等等之类的长篇大论。据报道，交通情况正以非常快的速度变的越来越糟。每个人自己都有着一吐为快的，记忆深刻的惨痛经历：纽约客运铁路的许多交换点被冻结：波士顿的暴风雪将三十分钟的行程耗成足有七个小时的噩梦；在芝加哥和其它中西部城市遭遇持续的暴风雪天气时，交通系统就陷入了瘫痪状况。

As time goes by, China has been a member of World Trade Organization for no less than four years. In the past four years, China has almost fulfilled all the promises made before its accession to WTO. Moreover, part of those promises have been realized in advance. On the most concerned issue of intellectual property rights, China has launched an amendment on its laws, investigated and punished large numbers of infringement, which have markedly come into effect. The central government has also made a thorough rearrangement of those administrative rules carried out by departments and commissions and local governments.
China has cherished its promises and always stick to them, by which it has shown its utmost sincerity, which display its dignity and grace as a trustworthy country. Thus, China earned good remarks by members in WTO and public mind alike.
China has been fully recognized by the organization at it`s annual meeting of inspection for those years. To comfirm its domestic economy to those rules set by WTO, China has perfomed its intense will in shouldering duties and will remain the same stance for good.
谈到当下美国各大城市中不堪的交通问题，往往是怨声载道．报纸和杂志总是大幅刊登，大肆渲染城市交通问题的严重性，通行障碍等议题．而交通的恶劣状况也是变本加利，愈演愈烈．

如今，美国的城市交通问题被一再讨论的原因之一就在于它无法达到人们的期望．那些赶路的人们希望随着交通系统的完善，可以缩短自己的赶路时间．但他们反而发现就连目前的通行速度都难以维持了．此外，另一个几乎可以肯定的原因就是对高峰事端的畅通率的改善力度远远不及非高峰时段．不过，那些致力于改善非高峰时段交通状况的努力，确实已经见效．

Shanghai is an international metropolis with energetic and colorful life whose great changes have caught everybody’s eye since the implement of reform and opening-up policy. Through the rapid development in economy, there is a flourishing situation in Shanghai with social in a stable law order as well as people living in a peaceful and happy life.
Although Shanghai still has plenty of colorful past to remind today, more and more people are appreciating the newly Shanghai. We can see not only Shanghai’s wonderful past in Puxi but also the promising prospect in Pudong. Shanghai with hopeful future will be attractive to more and more visitors like a sunrise.
