“今后，考生可以自主选择笔考还是机考。同时，由于考生人数激增，还将相应的增加考试名额及场次。”记者昨日从英国大使馆文化教育处获悉，雅思考试2008年将有四大变化。
增加国际化元素：由于雅思考试的题目主要由剑桥大学考试委员会负责，随着越来越多的国家机构认可雅思成绩，从今年开始，考试设计的队伍中增加了来自美国的语言专家。
进一步“计算机化”：据雅思考试主办方透露，为了适应新形势的需要，2008年雅思考试将进一步细化和开发计算机化考试。但是，机考不会完全替代笔考，主办方会给考生多种选择。另外，主办方还将进行全球认可系统(GRS)升级，方便认可雅思考试的机构在网上查阅考生的成绩。
名额场次可能增加：据透露，在现有的留学、移民政策没有大变动的前提下，2008年雅思考生的人数将继续走高。在已经公布的明年雅思考试日期安排中，有46个考试日期，其中我省将保持每月至少一场的考试频率。但是主办方还将密切留意考生报名情况，适时增加考试名额，并酌情增开新的考点，我省考生可密切留意相关动态。
不再出现“老题重现”：“老题重现”的现象在雅思考试中时有发生，甚至有道题目在2001年6月雅思考试中出现过之后，到今年为止连续出现过3次。主办方透露，雅思考试有专门的研发机构，会保证充足的题库，每份考卷不会重复。考试内容近来年不会有大的变动，难度会维持现有的水平不变。 （实习编辑：顾萍）

This is Jane Liu, an postgraduate student in major of history from Leeds University. I am planning a trip to London, during which I would like to have two-day visit in your library for my current research topic focused on British Library History. So I am writing this email to see if it is possible for you to provide some help in below aspects.
First of all, since I am going to arrive at the library on June 6, at 9:00am, is that convenient for you to meet me at the front entrance and offer me a brief library tour? Secondary, is that possible for me to access the local area network temporarily for speedy and comprehensive information searching? Thirdly, any youth hotel information around the library will be much appreciated.
I understand that it is somehow presumptuous of me to ask for above requirements, but I will be greatly grateful if you help.
