不管是CET，还是BEC、口译考试，阅读都占有很大的比重。但是在长期的培训中发现，同学们最轻视的就是阅读—错误地认为阅读只不过是词汇量Plus阅读技巧（老师半小时就全学会了）Plus几篇阅读Practice，所以英语学习和培训大部分精力都投入到背单词上了，而忽略了其中最重要的一环——对典型句型和复杂的句子结构(Sentence patterns and structures)的积累和把握。而实际上，正是这些结构堆砌的长难句严重地制约了我们的英语阅读速度和准确度。这就是为什么我们@个个单词清清楚楚，个个句子懵懵懂懂@这种怪现象的根源所在。
      因此，掌握英语典型的句型和复杂结构，并提高对其敏感度，遇到再复杂的长难句也会一目了然，是可以从根本上提高阅读能力。
      我们在遇到长难句时，要采取三部曲的办法：一辨主句和主干，二拆分结构，三分析逻辑。这样即势如破竹，攻无不克，精准快捷。
      大家先来看一个长句： 

    I think that after I spend my time under water, the most important thing that I came back with was the realization that it is now possible for men to live permanently where once they could not even venture for a second, and this is of tremendous importance because if you realize what it means it means that advancing technology now has peeled off a layer of ocean water 200 meters thick and it opens up vast new lands and resources and knowledge which is only 200 meters away and which has been there waiting for us for centuries.

   
大家看到了，这么长一段话是一句话，一气呵成。我们读起来则是头痛不已。但是，我们如果对英语的句型和结构足够敏感，很快就可以识别出主句和句子主干，一层一层地庖丁解牛，游刃有余。首先该句的基本框架是主句 I think   加that宾语从句；那么我认为什么呢？从句很复杂，我们要迅速抓住主干。告诉大家一个秘诀：可以从确定主干谓语动词入手。主干谓语动词有个特征：就是紧接其前的中心名词或代词前未出现从属连词、引导词或关系词，并且本身不是非谓语动词！ 据此，我们可以迅速断定that句中有两个and连接的并列主干谓语动词，即：was和(this) is；从而确定that主干为：
     The most improtant thing was the realization，and this is of tremendous importance. 
     顿时豁然开朗！然后我们可以开始拆分结构和并分析各部分间的逻辑关系了：
                                     定语从句（ ）；状语从句[ ]；名词性从句{ }                                      

I think

{1宾语that^a the most important thing^b was the realization^c}

      ^a  [2时间after I spend my time under water],       
      ^b (2定语that I came back with）
      ^c  {2同位that it is now possible for men to live permanently^d

   这样一来我们很容易弄清楚这句话的意思：                                                                                 

    我想，在水下呆了一段时间之后，从中获得的最大收获是，认识到现在人们有可能长久生活在他们过去甚至片刻也不敢冒险停留的地方，这是非常重要的，因为当你认识到它的意义时，你会明白，由于技术的进步，现在已经揭开了一个深达二百米的海水层，而且还开拓出广大的土地、资源和知识的新领域，而这一领域就离我们只有二百米的地方，并且多少世纪以来，它一直在那里等着我们去开发。
