BEIJING, China (AP) -- Nastia Liukin of the U.S. edged teammate Shawn Johnson for the all-around gold in women's gymnastics Friday in an intense match-up that lived up to its billing at the Beijing Games.

BEIJING — When Oksana Chusovitina won her first Olympic gymnastics medal, a team gold at the 1992 Barcelona Games, most of the competitors in the Beijing Games were toddlers. A few might have still been in diapers.

Obama declares nomination victory 奥巴马成功获得提名 PENDING
Barack Obama has declared himself "the Democratic nominee for President of the United States".
Barack Obama已经公开承认自己是"美国民主党派总统提名人".
The claim came on the last day of primary season, as projections showed he had earned enough delegates to clinch the nomination.
Of the two states that voted, Montana was won by Mr Obama, while in South Dakota, Mr Obama's rival Hillary Clinton was victorious.
In a speech to supporters, Mrs Clinton refused to concede the election.
Mr Obama's speech was delivered in St Paul, Minnesota, where Republicans are set to hold their presidential nominating convention.
In the speech, he stressed that Mrs Clinton would play a part in his administration.

China Unicom unveils details of merger with China Netcom 中国联通与中国网通合并
More details of the long-anticipated China telecoms industry reshuffle were revealed on Monday as China Unicom, the country's second largest mobile service provider, said it would acquire fixed-line operator China Netcom Group Corp. with a share swap deal.

The merger is expected to introduce more competition into the telecoms industry, as part of the overhaul planned by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the Ministry of Industry and Information.
作为国家工业和信息监督委员会财产管理的一部分,这场合并预计会给中国通信业带来更会激烈的竞争.
Analysts believe that the five state-owned companies in the telecom sector, namely China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, China Netcom and China Tietong, will be restructured into three groups, each able to provide both mobile and fixed-line services.
分析专家认为,国家五大通信公司,中国移动,中国电信,中国联通,中国网通,中国铁通, 将得组为三大集团,任何一个集团都有能力提供移动电话与固定电话的服务.
